You Can't Leave Me

"Excuse me?" A voice says behind the two girls. The whole family turns and looks to see Dr. Jensen, Maya's doctor, standing there. The family look at him with pained expressions.

"Ms. Hart is now stable -" Doctor Jensen says. What happened?" Katy speaks, standing up.

Doctor Jensen sighs, "For a minute there, we lost her. But . . . She's stable now . . . I suggest though, that only one person can be in the room at a time now."

The family sighs with relief and Riley looks worriedly.

"Is she going to be okay?" Riley asks. "She should be . . ." Doctor Jensen replies.
"When will she wake up?" Chai asks desperately.

Dr. Jensen frowns. "We don't know yet . . . I'm sorry." He quickly hurries away and leaves the family and friends alone with their thoughts.

Riley waits outside in the waiting room with Mrs. Hunter, Chai, Farkle, Zay, Smackle, and Lucas along with her parents and Auggie.

It was Shawn turn to talk to Maya. She wanted to see Maya, but she also knew that she wasn't the only one who cared about Maya, so for now she'd just have to wait.

"Hey, kiddo." Shawn starts as he sits in the same chair Riley had sat in early. He looks at his pale daughter and sighs. "Look . . . Maya . . . You gave us a big scare . . . But you gotta get better." Shawn looks at his daughter and tears start falling down.

"Maya, how could you be in here? Why do always gotta play the hero? Why couldn't you just kept on walking away, and not listen to that scumbag? C'mon, Maya. Don't do this to me, Maya. Don't do this to your mother and I! To the people who care about you and are praying for you to get better. Especially, don't do this to, Riley! I know you're in there but it's like you're not really here. You're not talking but I know you're here. So I'm just gonna talk, you can listen. Maya, I didn't meet you until I was 32 but you're the reason Maya, that I can be a father. I'm very extremely fond of you." Shawn says as more tears fall down. Shawn sadly chuckles, "There's also another reason you can't leave. Your gonna be a big sister! We were planning to tell you today, but this happened. Maya, your gonna have a baby brother or sister, and there going to need you. So don't blow me off, Maya! Don't blow us, off God! I can't lose another person I care about!  I never wanted to come to you like this again, God! But don't take Maya away from me. From, the people who care about her! She's not waking up, yet. God, you're not talking but I know you're here, so I'm gonna talk, and you can listen. God, I don't wanna be empty inside again, don't take her away from us!" Shawn said as he cried more. Katy entered the room and her heart broke seeing her daughter and husband like this, Katy hugged Shawn as the two cried.
