Maya Stays

Today, was their last day in Texas and everyone was packing their bags early so they can head out early. Everyone, expect for their blond-haired friend who Riley couldn't seem to find at all.

"Guys, have you seen Maya? She hasn't packed her bags and we're going to be leaving at seven P.M." Riley asked concern for Maya hasn't fully recovered.

"Riley, relax it's still morning and Maya is just exploring or hanging out with Scott. You know that Maya is going to miss him. She'll be back soon." Farkle said trying to calm down Riley. Which worked until Riley saw Zay, Chai, and Lucas whispering.

"What are the two of you whispering about?" Riley questioned them. The three looked at each other and then at Riley and ran out the door. Leaving, Farkle and Smackle confused and a suspicious Riley as she stared where the three ran off.

Zay, Chai, and Lucas ran for five minutes when they finally arrived to their destination. Zay spotted Maya and Scott at the swings and showed Chai and Lucas and walked towards them. Maya and Scott where laughing when Maya noticed them and got off the swing set.

"Maya you have to head back and tell Riley what you told us! She's been looking for you and is worried that something happened to you." Lucas said to Maya in a serious voice. Maya, looked at Zay and Chai who nodded and a slightly confused Scott as he now stood beside Maya.

"Your right, I need to tell her now. No doubt it's gonna turn out awful and I'm particularly going to need the whole day for Riley to talk to me." Maya said towards Zay, Chai, and Lucas who all nodded in agreement. Maya kneeled down in front of Scott.

"Scott, I gotta talk to Riley. I'll be back as soon as I can. So, Zay, Chai, and Lucas are going to walk you home, okay." Maya explained to Scott who nodded and hugged Maya. She ruffled Scott hair and started heading towards the house. Knowing things aren't going to be pretty.

Maya, arrived home and entered the house and saw Riley in the living room sleeping. Maya chuckled and sat down beside Riley. And gently woke her up because they needed to talk. Riley took in her surroundings and noticed Maya.

"Maya! Where have you been? I been looking for you! C'mon you gotta start packing. Remember, we leave in a few hours." Riley said as she got up and noticed that Maya was looking at her with sorrow. Riley slowly sat down again.

"Maya... why do you look sad?" Riley asked nervously. Maya grabbed Riley hands and held them tightly.

"Riley, I'm staying here in Texas. I decided that I'll return back to New York one week before school starts. I talked to my parents and Kermit as well and they said it's okay." Maya confessed to Riley who instantly shook Maya's hands off hers and looked at her with anger.

"So, you just decided to stay here without talking to me about it? Maya, were engaged your suppose to talk to me and hear what I think. But, you didn't and it makes me so mad that you now decide to tell me when we're about to leave. Were, you just planning to avoid me all day till it was time to leave and tell me your staying in Texas?" Riley asked angry at Maya and then remembered what happened in the morning. "Did Zay, Chai, and Lucas know about this? Did you really tell are friends first and not your fiancé?" Riley asked in disbelief.

"I was only planning to tell you about this but they overheard me when I was asking my parents if I can stay here for the whole summer and I'll return one week before school starts." Maya explained to Riley hoping it will calm her down but it didn't. Riley got up and walked out the house slamming the door loudly. Maya, had a feeling that this was going to happen as Maya was thinking she didn't see her friends enter the living room.

"So, you told Riley. And it went just the way you expected?" Lucas asked and he received a groan. Zay couldn't help but not laugh at that but stopped when Lucas shot him a glare.
