A tear slowly began to trickle down my face. I wiped it off quickly, I was not giving up this easily.
I got up and found my feet pick up into a sprint. I felt the wind snake its way through my hair as I ran further away from the cliff. My feet suddenly came to a halt when I reached a forest. I turned my head looking left and right. The only problem was each way was identical. It was as if I was a in a math problem trying to figure out if this was a line of symmetry and I knew it was. Every way I turned my head looked identical.
My body collapsed falling in the middle of the symmetrical forest and I slowly buried my head in my knees. I felt my grief chasing me knowing sooner or later death would become my first name.
Everything was silent, only the faux wind blowing through the trees. It was a weird feeling, normally when wind brushes against my skin goose bumps appear, but not this time.
It was strange. Everything felt real but fake. I had been in here too long and felt myself slightly going insane. My brain was beginning to think everything was real even though I was trying hard to keep my mind focused.
A sudden rustle in the bushes nearby made my head snap up. "Who's there?" I whimpered and slowly rose to me feet, wiping my nose.
I saw a tall boy emerge from the shadows, "H-Hayley?" Isaac questioned. My body tensed thinking back to the dark Isaac I had met earlier.
Something was different this time, he had a different vibe; a good vibe. I locked eyes with him and something ignited in my chest, it felt familiar. It was him, somehow he was here and my body felt relieved. I felt myself soon running to his direction and wrapping my arms tightly around him.
He didn't say anything just held me tightly. It was reassuring and exactly what I needed. He suddenly pushed me away and put his arms on my two shoulders, "I'm not real, you know that right?" He stated.
I felt disappointment erupt throughout my body, of course he had to be fake as well. What I didn't understand was how he actually felt real; like somehow he was connected to me.
I nodded softly, "Okay good, you need to wake up okay, we are losing you Hayley, Wake up!" He raised his voice and shook me slightly, but nothing happened.
"Wake up Hayley, wake up!" I tried to tell myself... Nothing happened. "I-It's not working Isaac, please help me!" I yelled at him angrily.
He looked around and scratched his head, "Please don't get mad at me for this..." He rambled. Before I knew what was going on, his hands grasped my face and pulling my lips closer till they connected with his.
I took a sharp breath, and didn't feel anything. No spark, no nothing, like it was fake. It was as if I was dreaming and couldn't feel anything. My body went numb and I couldn't move, my eyes were shut and I couldn't open them, was this it was this the end for me?
My breath then hitched and I felt my body jolt awake as I sat up on the table. I was immediately engulfed in a strong hug. Isaac grasped my body into a warm embrace. My arms instantly wrapped around him and I nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck.
"You did it, good job Hayley." Deaton praised me and Isaac finally released me from his strong hold. The others soon walked in and all look relieved.
After many hugs and reassurance everyone piled out. The boy who was a Mental Wolf was back to his normal self and Deaton had taken him to the hospital for a quick check up.
Right now it was just Isaac and I. Deaton told me to wait a few more minutes in the clinic just to make sure I would be okay since after I snapped out of my trance I felt rather dizzy. I told Isaac to leave, but he wouldn't budge.
