50 First Dates
Chapter 4: Stop, Drop, and Roll
I take a little more time examining my clothes than usual today. I grab my nicest, cleanest, simple shirt and pull it over my head. As I pick up my jeans fear strikes me again as I think of what happened yesterday with Niall.
"Well, that wasn't what I was expecting." Niall says looking down at the sea horse food. "Not what I was expecting at all."
"Well we weren't exactly expecting you either." I try to say boldly but, it comes out more strangled than bold.
"Hope you didn't move on yet, Taylor wanted to come back especially for you." Niall grins.
The blood running through my veins become like lead and my breath gets caught in my throat. At the thought of her my heart pounds uncontrollably, and memories literally flood back in a rushed wave. I clutch the left side of my chest, where my heart's pounding had turned into it shattering. It's as if I relive my memories with Taylor all over again in a rapid rush. My heart shatters at the last few memories the pain becoming literal and unbearable. I was happy. I haven't been fully happy since Taylor. That was until Lily but, that doesn't matter, I was just happy because we were making music and songs.
"My friend here already has his girlfriend coming tomorrow to visit, so I pity Taylor. He's taken." Louis explains to Niall looking at me concerned.
I suddenly snap back to reality at the thought of Lily coming to visit today. I feel an itch on my face and when I reach to itch my face I feel my damp skin. I must've been crying and hadn't noticed. I wipe my already dried tears. I spray my Axe cologne before grabbing my wallet and bringing it to my back pocket. I pick up my phone and keys ready to leave.
I turn on the radio as I start the car and back out onto the street. "With Ur Love" comes on my mind drifts to Lily and I's song "With Our Love". That's when I've been the happiest lately, writing songs with Lily, just like how I used to be happiest when writing songs with.. Taylor.
"Shit!" I yell, slamming the brakes before I collide with another car. I hit the wheel in frustration when I realize that I enjoy doing something with Lily that I've loved and done only with Taylor until now. Maybe I like hanging out with Lily because she reminds me of Taylor in a way. What the actual fuck!
···
"Maybe your subconscious brought you to Lily because, you still love Taylor deep inside, and Lily was the closest to what you liked the most about Taylor. How real and raw she was or how she seemed." Louis suggests.
"How do you fall out of love? How do you unlove someone?" I ask pulling my hair in frustration.
"I don't know, mate." Louis sighs.
"Hi guys." Niall comes in with his usual cheery large grin. "Sorry if I made you guys feel uncomfortable yesterday, you know how sisters are. Mine wanted to make sure her presence was recognized. And, luckily for her we work together now." Niall's grin disappears.
"It's whatever mate. How was Europe? England still better than Ireland?" Louis teases Niall.
"In your dream Peter Pan." Niall rolls his eyes causing laughter to roll out of my chest. "Hey, Harry, where's your girlfriend?"
"She's not here yet, she's coming with a group." I defend.
Now looking at the time I realize it's way past the usual time the groups come in. Where is she?
"Well I have to go swim with the fishies." Niall grins walking away.
"She'll come, she's probably caught up with something, she'll be here soon." Louis pats my back before walking away.
I nod my head trying to reassure myself. She'll come, she'll be here. Wait, why do I care so much? Probably because Taylor will force her way back into my life, if there's nothing stopping or delaying her. And, I can't deal with Taylor again. Yes that's definitely the reason.
"She'll come." I whisper to myself.
···
"She didn't come." I say to no one in particular. Anger, annoyance, and hurt are running through my veins. My heart feels a small pang, it's been a while since anyone's ever stood me up before, and last time that happened...
Why didn't she come? Without thinking I rush out and get into my car, subconsciously driving to a decided destination. I open the car door and slam it. I run into the café expecting to see her at a booth but, instead find emptiness. I walk up to the counter.
"Where is she?" I ask Big Poppa.
"She left a long time ago." He simply replies. He doesn't even seem shocked or fazed by my question.
She didn't even come. It sinks in, she didn't come. Well, why the hell not? I thought we hit it off pretty well. I guess I'll have to find out from her myself. I sigh and walk to my car.
···
I drop myself on the couch with a bowl of potato chips. I grab the remote searching for something good to watch, I land on a football game and decide to watch it. Few minutes later the door bell rings, must be the pizza.
I sigh and push myself off the couch and walk to the door with wallet in hand.
I open the door to find a blonde girl with long legs and a skinny frame. She seems fit.
"Oh, umm, sorry. Here's your order of.. Harry?" She looks up at me in confusion.
My breath catches in my throat at her beauty, and then my heart stops, drops, and rolls onto the street. I'm frozen.
"Umm. Hi Harry."
