Summary: Tobin is a high school teacher and suddenly becomes very fond of her job when she arrives at a new school in diamond bar. (Oh yes i did)

The harsh sound of the bell was heard throughout the school and students started to file into the class quickly. Everyone taking their seats, waiting for the class to be over when it hasn't even started yet.

The second bell rang a few minutes after, signaling the start of class. That's when Tobin got up from her desk at the corner of the classroom and stood in front of the class.

"Hello, my name is Ms. Heath and I will be your English teacher from now on."

"What happened to Mr. Jackson?" A female student asked.

"I don't know and next time raise your hand if you have a question." Tobin said pointedly. "Ok. Now we're go-" Tobin was interrupted by a late student.

"Sorry I'm late Mr. Jacks- um... Where's Mr. Jackson?" She asked as she fumbled to get to her seat.

"Mr. Jackson won't be teaching you anymore. As I've said earlier my name is Ms. Heath, if you wouldn't have been late you would've known that. What's your name?" Ms. Heath asked.

"Alex." Alex replied.

"Alex what?" Tobin raised an eyebrow.

"Alex Morgan."

"Stay behind after class, Alex Morgan."

Tobin continued her lesson and before she knew it the bell rang signaling the end of class. All of the teenagers were outside the class in a matter of seconds except Alex.

"Want to tell me why you were late today, Ms. Morgan?" Tobin asked as she sat on the edge of her desk.

"Sorry, I couldn't find my notebook in my locker."

"I understand. Don't let it happen again ok?"

"It'll probably happen again I'm like really unorganized when it comes to that but not that I'm not organized in general it's just ya'know before class I get nervous that I won't make it in time and things start falling out of my locker- not that my locker is stuffed with things it's just- wow I'm rambling I'm really not making this a good first impression." Alex said as she looked at Tobin, who was leaning back with amusement all over her face. "What?" Alex asked as she noticed the older girl's smile.

"Nothing. It's ok Ms. Morgan. You should head out now, don't want you to be late to your next class too." Tobin chuckled.

"Oh so now you're making fun of me?" Alex chuckled.

"Making fun of a student? Me?" Tobin asked with a fake gasp. "Never!"

"Whatever Ms. Heath." Alex chuckled as she walked out of class.

-----------------------------------------

It was the next day and again it was time for 6th period english.

Tobin started her talk with the class when she heard talking coming from Alex's area.

"Alex? Do you have something to add?" She asked.

"No, ma'am." Alex shyly smiled and turned back around to face Tobin.

"As I was saying, for this quarter of the year we will be reading the infamous book, How To Kill A Mocking Bird. You will have about two and a half months to read the book and the rest of the quarter to do an assignment I will give you. The assignment is alone."

The bell rang and everyone including Alex got ready to leave the class when suddenly Tobin called out for her.

"Alex, a word?" Tobin said tilting her head to the side of the class away from the few students still packing up their bags.
