I ran as quick as I could.

The wind slapped against my face and rain started to pour, the late night darkness was starting to surround me.
A couple tears dripped off my cheeks and onto the dirty cobblestone.

I ran to what looked like a cemetery,
I ran,
Then I slipped,
Then I was out.

I woke up in a fugue state, my eyes were squinted and I could barely make out where I was.
"Morning" a thick accented voice said.
I rubbed my eyes and sat up to a boy about my age sitting in a chair across from me.
He had a stupid smirk on his face.
"Uh, morning?" I said confused
The boy got up and walked towards me reaching up to my head.
I think I had some sort of bandage wrapped around my head.

"Where am I " I asked
"Your in the O'connor funeral parlor." He said while unraveling the bandage.
"I'm Enoch and you're Aspen" he said not even daring to look me in the eye.

"And how do you know that?" I asked, with no expression he said "it was on your dress." I was freaked out by now.

I looked down to see that my blue dress was no longer what I was wearing, instead I was wearing a maroon dress with long sleeves and the skirt went down to my knees.

"Did you, um..."
"Change your clothes, yes." He interrupted. He went back to cleaning up his dead people utensils.
I was still confused, "how did I get here and why did you, you know?" I said sheepishly

He sighed and sat down pulling his chair so that he was staring up at me.
"Well, last night I had to watch over the cemetery and I found a girl laying on the ground covered in dirt with a huge gash on her head completely unconscious." He raised his eyebrows
"And the dress thing?" I asked, so he continued " the girl I found laying on the ground covered in dirt had blood and tons of snow covering her dress,
So I changed her into something I think she would like better than dirty clothes." He looked at me clapped his hands then started walking around the table "so I thought to myself, why the hell is there snow on this girl if it's the middle of the summer?, then I decided to help this mysterious girl by cleaning up the huge head gash and change her dirty clothes, letting her sleep on my coroners table." He smirked then put his arms on my waist and taking me off the table.

"So if you'll come with me upstairs to my home, we can talk about why you were in my family's cemetery and why you were covered in snow." He took a deep breath and opened the door.

The stingey smell of dead people was gone and the smell of lavender replaced it. Enoch was easy on the eyes, he had distinct features and dark curly brown hair.

I didn't realize he caught me staring until he said "you like what
You see?" I blushed "no, I um..yes, I mean no" I squeaked.

He pushed open a door revealing a small kitchen with cream coloured walls and a small brown table and chairs in the middle of the room.
"Now we talk, sit down" he said, then he continued by saying "tea?" I nodded

I sat down at the table and he handed me some amazing smelling tea.

He sat down across from me and looked at me straight in the eyes, with no expression.

"So tell me, why were you covered in snow and why were you in my cemetery at midnight?" He asked taking a sip of his tea. He looked cute.

"I... Just I don't know why this is happening to me, it just happened yesterday." I said he leaned forward and wrapped his hands around the ceramic mug. "Why were you in my cemetery though?" He asked, I answered with "I was running from my family, long story." I shrugged "well I've got time." He said

Then a woman walked into the kitchen "Enoch honey." She said while putting down some vegetables on the counter. "Oh, um mum this is Aspen." Enoch said

"Ah, hello dear, I'm Lois." The woman said "Enoch's mum." She said

I smiled "I'm Enoch's..,ugh fr" then Enoch cut me off "girlfriend, Aspen is my girlfriend." He said, then reached his hand to touch mine. He looked at me and signalled to agree.

"Um, yea I'm his girlfriend." I said awkwardly. I mean his hand was still holding onto mine, it was great.

Enoch's mum smiled "oh how cute."
Enoch smiled sheepishly.

Then he stood up pulling me along to the door "oh, mum Aspen and I are going on a small trip together, so don't worry about dinner for me." He lied

"Okay that's fine darling." She said that then winked at me smirking.

I was dumbfounded.

Hope you loved this second chapter as much as I did!
