Chapter 5

~*~

After cleaning up the dishes from breakfast Quade showed me where the spare towels and extra tooth brushes were and I took a shower and cleaned myself up for the day. I walk over to the windows in the master bedroom and see that it has now become over cast and look to be drizzling. I turn to walk away from the window and see Quade leaning in the door frame looking at me. I walk up to him and he straightens up.

“It’s raining” I say to him.

“Yeah, I wanted to go and take walk with you around the estate but can’t do that now.” He says with a sad smile on his face.

“It’s ok. We can stay in and get to know each other. Like a twenty questions kind of thing.” I say to him.

“Sure we can do that.” He says and takes my hand and we go down the stairs and he leads me to the lounge room.

I go to the couch and he sits next to me. I turn and put my legs over his lap and his hands instantly go to my legs and rub up and down them. He looks at me and I smile at him. “Ok first question.” I say.

“What’s your surname?”

“Thomas. Yours?”

 “Brown”

“What’s your date of birth?” he asks

 “21st of January 1982. Your?”

“Your 31 years old. I’m 35 years old.” He says.

I smile at him because I’m happy he is older than me and falls in the age bracket difference that I have for a guy to be for me. “My birthday is the 25th of February 1978.”

“Is Lucas and Jamie your only siblings?”

“Yes. You have any siblings?”

“No. I’m an only child.”

“Wow that must have been hard for you. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have my brothers.”

“I have had Ryleigh my best friend in my life for as long as I can remember so I think of her as the sister I never had.”

“Are your parents still married, divorced or deceased?” I ask him.

“My parents are both still alive and married to each other but they don’t live in this country. They live where ever my dad’s job takes them. If it wasn’t for my dad’s job I don’t think I would have seen or been to all the different places in the world I have. He is a diplomat so we were always moving to different countries every couple of years.”

“That is amazing. I would love to be able to travel the world. I have never left this country.”

“I will take you anywhere you want to go, just tell me and I’ll make it happen.” He says smiling at me.

“You don’t have to do that.” I say to him.

“I know I don’t have to, but I can and would really like to do that for you if you would let me?” He is looking at me with his big puppy dog eyes and I find myself say ‘yes ok’ to him because I just can’t refuse the way he is looking at me.

“What about your parents?” He asks back to the task at hand.

“My parents were both still happily married when they died in a plane crash when I was 7.”

“Baby I’m sorry I shouldn’t have asked” He says and pulls me to him and gives me a hug.

“It’s ok. You need to know these things to get to know me.” I say to him retuning to my previous sitting position.
