Chapter 4

~*~

I am trying my hardest to not over think or analyse what he might have meant by those words. How can he be so sure that I will be his last girlfriend? Is he ready to settle down and have a wife, kids and two dogs? I really just don’t know what to think of it. Maybe I’ll ask him later when there is no one around. It’s one way of getting to know him.

I walk over to the stairs and start to climb out but am pulled back in. I let out a little scream which cause both Zoey and Quade to laugh at me. I was not expecting Quade to pull me back in to the pool with him. I turn around in his arms quickly and hid my face in his neck as I’m now embarrassed that I screamed like a little girl. He wraps his arms tight around me and kisses my cheek and says to me.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to frighten you. I just didn’t want you to get out of the pool yet. I want to spend some time with you here.” I nod my head which is still hidden in his neck and say “Ok” to him. I feel us moving and he says to Zoey she needs to go and get ready for dinner.

I wrap my legs around his waist as I can feel he is walking us now in the pool. I move my head out from its hiding place and look to see where he is taking us. He stops back at the wall and turns so that I have my back to the house. He brings his right hand up and caresses the side of my face and I feel myself lean into his hand and close my eyes.

“You are even more beautiful when you blush you know that. I am a really lucky man to have you as my girlfriend” I open my eyes and look at him and he is looking right back at me. I know I am getting lost in his eyes but I just can’t seem to respond to what he has just said. I look at him for a while longer and say

“I think you have it backwards actually”

His facial expression changes into a questioning look and I continue

“I’m the lucky one, because I get to finally say to my friends that this handsome man before them is my boyfriend. They can for once have the fish out of water effect when they meet you because you are all mine.”

“That I am and nothing is going to change that.” He says back to me with a big toothy smile that is so infectious because I know I am now giving him one back as well. I think I just might be falling for this man. Who am I kidding here? I have already fallen head over heels for him and I quite like it. We get called that dinner is in five mutes so we get out of the pool and I nip back inside to get changed into warmer clothes.
