Caroline couldn't stop complaining about the grade she got on that science test. I wish I could have been some help, but I hadn't received my grade yet. In fact, I haven't even taken the test. Mr. Crawford wasn't in today, and the sub didn't feel comfortable giving it to me for some reason.

"You're so lucky your mom let you sleep in yesterday. That test was wicked hard." She kept throwing popcorn into the trash can behind our table.

I shrugged my shoulders. Usually my mother would tell me to suck it up, and face my problems head on- but I think she felt bad for me because of how I was feeling, and cut me some slack for once.

"Are you ready for the party tonight?" Caroline asked me, leaning her head down on her lunchbox.

I shook my head. "I'm not going- I already told you this."

I watched as she rolled her bright blue eyes, "Oh, come on. You're seriously not still hung up on what happened the other day, are you?"

I stared at her impassively, trying to think of what incident she was talking about. There happened to be two of them, both on the same day with the same person- but I really don't think I told her about the one leaving the library. Then I'd have to explain to her why I was there so late, and that's not something I plan on doing for anyone.

"Just because he's going to be there, doesn't mean you can't. Go for yourself!" She proposed, smiling a huge smile.

"Who would I hang out with? I don't know anybody that's going to be there." I whined, sighing. I really did want to go. It was something to do over the weekend.

Caroline looked around the outdoor lunch area, smirking before she turned back to me. "I bet that Garrett guy from the other day will be."

I laughed, hysterically- drawing attention from a few people nearby. "Oh don't be silly."

"You!" She quickly replied, "Liv- he hasn't stopped glancing in your direction all lunch. He's totally in to you."

"How do you know it's not you he's in to?" I raised an eyebrow. Caroline shook her head with a small eye-roll.

"You're going- and that's final. I don't want to discuss this anymore." She puffed out her chest like a snob would. Caroline could be persistent like that. It was annoying, but sometimes, a blessing in disguise.

"I don't even know if I'm still invited." I sighed, tossing my empty juice box into the trash can. "We got into another fight, and this time, it was pretty bad."

She opened her mouth to reply,  but froze once her eyes landed on something behind me. I furrowed my brows at her, quickly spinning around to meet the eyes of Elliot- standing directly in front of me.

I turned back around, closing my eyes and hoping he'd walk away. I didn't want to talk to him right now. I'm still mad at him- for a reason I can't even remember anymore. It's been a long time since I've talked to him- well, it's been a full day at least.
