In the background, I could hear the music blazing. Everybody was laughing and having a good time.

But I wasn't. Garrett has been cheating on me, and Elliot knew- but for some reason, didn't say a thing. I would have much rather have known instead of find out this way, especially on a night like this.

I was currently sitting down in the hallway, leaned up against someone's random locker. The crying had already stopped, and it wasn't the emotion of anger that I felt anymore. Now, I was just upset that I had to catch him like that.

Truth is, I've always kind of questioned my feelings towards him. Yes, Garrett was a great guy- but, I don't know. Something about us together just didn't feel the way it should have. There wasn't that big of a spark, and our relationship wasn't all that interesting.

Maybe it was good i found him that way. If not, i wouldn't have had the courage to break up with him. I'm pretty sure that's what I wanted.

Someone's footsteps came toppling around the corner. When I looked up to see who they belonged too, it was Elliot- of course.

"Livvy, I've been looking everywhere for you." He said, in between panting breaths. I didn't respond. I just moved my eyes from his, back to his shoes.

Elliot sighed, sliding down the lockers right next to me. He didn't say anything else for the time being. We both just sat there silently.

But the silence must've been too hard for him to handle, because Elliot said something to me that I've rarely ever heard him say before. "I'm sorry, okay?"

"For what?" I snapped, "Completely leaving me on my own when we entered the gym, or failing to mention how my boyfriend was running around with another girl behind my back?"

Elliot chewed on his bottom lip, "All of it?" He gave me a cheeky smile.

I wanted to slap it off of him, but instead, I flipping smiled too.

"Ha- there's that famous Barbie doll smile." Elliot winked at me.

I shook my head, "I'm not a Barbie doll."

He shrugged, "Tonight you are."

I quickly looked at him, definitely confused. "What?"

Elliot rubbed his neck, "Liv, I should have told you earlier." He looked me directly in the eyes, "You look amazing tonight, honestly. I didn't mean to act like I didn't care, because trust me, I do."

I continued to stare at him.

"And I know I've been an asshole lately, but, I think I'm done with that. I don't want to keep messing with you anymore, Liv. I want to show you that I'm not really a bad guy."

I actually could not believe what just came out of his mouth. Was Elliot being serious? Was he done playing games?

"Elliot, I-"

"Shh." He cut me off, placing his finger over my mouth. I gave him the weirdest look, "Don't say anything, just dance with me."

I cocked one of my eyebrows up, "Out here?"

"What? No, dumb-" he paused when I glared at him, "beauty?"

I shook my head, laughing, "Nice save."

"Come on!" He stood up and grabbed my hand, pulling me up after him. "We're going back in that gym, and having a great night. Forget Garrett and Emily, because fuck them. We're gonna have some fun."

So that's her name. Emily, huh? Interesting.

Elliot began to pull me towards the gym, but I stopped him. "What about your friends?"
