Friday 19:57

Evan POV

"Bro, it's Friday. Why the fuck would you want to stay at home? Come to the party with us."

Trying to convince my brother to come to a party is a futile attempt. Yet I still try. Mainly because the man needs some fun in his life. Especially after he got dumped 2 weeks ago. He just needs to forget about it and move on. This is the exact reason why I don't do relationships, the breakup part. I don't want to look like a lost puppy. Hit it and quit it is my main motto. Although I did have a crush once, but its long over now.

"I don't feel like it. Seeing drunk people make out and grind on each other is not my scene." He says with a disgusted look planted on his face. "So I'd rather just stay at home and watch movies. Or just clean out the attic like mom asked us a month ago."

"Fine. Be boring." I picked up my car keys and walked towards the front door. Ryder looked at me with a confused look.

"Are you driving?" He called out once I reached the door handle. I turned around and Ryder stood there with his arms crossed. He knew that when I go to parties I get waisted and by waisted I mean waking up in a different place the next day. Ryder, being the older brother, always looks out for me. Like the other day when my motorbike got stolen, he went to look for the guy and beat the crap out of him. I was going to do it myself but he beat me to it. I would do the same for him.

"Yeah...uhm...I'm not going to drink tonight." Yup I'm a bad liar. Who goes to a party and doesn't drink? Losers. And I am definitely not a loser.

"You and I both know that's a lie. You are not going to drive bro. Just get a lift by one of your loser friends." Another thing, he makes fun of my friends. They are not actually losers. We are actually popular in school. At least we think we are.

"I need to drive. What if I get lucky and meet a girl and I want to take her home to chill?" I tried explaining. My convincing skills needs to get better.

He laughed. "Chill? Dude why come all the way home to get laid? Just do it there." He shakes his head and took the keys from my hands. "You are not driving."

He walked towards the kitchen and put the keys down on the counter. I stood in front of the door. What am I supposed to do now? I guess I should just text one of my friends to come pick me up. So I took out my phone from my pocket and texted the first person I thought of, Austin. Austin Michaelson is my best friend. We've known each other since kindergarten. Some even think that we are brothers.

After I texted Austin, I told Ryder goodbye and walked outside. I waited outside on the front porch and turned to my left when I saw Josie Hasher walk out of her house.  Who's Josie Hasher you might ask? Well, she is only the most beautiful girl in our school. And I might have had  a crush on her. Unfortunately it will never work out because firstly I don't do relationships and secondly she has a boyfriend. I respect the Bro code too much to try anything with her. Even if her boyfriend and I are far from being bros. It sucks that we are neighbours because then I have to see her douche of a boyfriend constantly. I don't know what she sees in him. She is too sweet and innocent for a dick like him. Note that I am not jealous at all.

She looked at me and I realised that I was staring too long. I smiled and waved at her and she waved back. She started making her way towards me. I walked off the porch and walked to her. Like a 'meet me halfway' sort of thing. When we met up by each other, it was awkward. Should I hug her? That would be weird considering we are not even friends only the 'Hi' and 'bye' kind of people. Luckily she started the conversation. Safe from being embaressed.

"Hey, Evan." She smiled. That smile is a killer. Any guy would instantly fall for that smile.

"Hey Josie. Uhm are you going to the party as well? " why did I ask that? Of course she is going to the party. She is Josie Hasher after all. However, she wasn't bothered by the question.

"Yeah, I am. I'm just waiting for Dustin to come pick me up." Of course she is waiting for that douche. I mean her boyfriend.

"Oh." I scratched the back of my head nervously. Why the fuck am I so nervous? I don't have a stupid 9th grader crush on her anymore. "That's cool. Im waiting to. For my friend that is. Not a girl friend. A...uhm guy friend. Not like that, as in my friend who is a guy. My best friend actually." Smooth Evan smooth. I'm so stupid. I thought she would think I'm weird and walk away but instead she just laughed.

"Sure Evan. So how's Ryder holding up?" I looked at her confusingly and she noticed it. "Oh, I heard about the break up. And I saw the video." She looked down to the ground and  I noticed how her black hair waved slightly in the night wind.

"He's doing great. He'll get over it soon. Hopefully everyone just forgets about that video." I shrugged. Just when she was about to reply a car drove up to the sidewalk. I knew that car from anywhere. It belonged to none other than the douche himself, Dustin Millington.

Dustin stopped close to us. Way too close. As in 'almost driving me over' close. I stumbled backwards and noticed that his car has tinted windows. So I couldn't see the smug look on his face. How do I know he has a smug look you ask? Well, that's his face 24/7 , ugly and smugly.

He climbed out of the car and made his way towards Josie. "Hey babe." He gave her a side hug and then kissed her passionately on the lips in front of me. This isn't awkward at all. I waited for 2 minutes before they broke apart. He looked at me and gave a smug look. "Cunningham. Didn't expect to see you here."

"Really? Because you do know that I live right there, right?" I pointed to my house. "Your comments become more stupid everyday Millington. Maybe that's why people don't expect much from you." I smiled triumphantly. He gave me an irritated look.

"Whatever," he looked at Josie, "babe, we should go. We don't need to be delayed any further." He looks back at me

I clench my fists. I want to hit this asshole so much. Unfortunately if I do, he would probably sue my family. The fact that his father is a lawyer will definitely not count in my favour. Oh and he is rich.

Josie looked from Dustin to me."Okay, see you at the party Evan." I nodded. Dustin opened the door for her and he ran towards the driver's side and climbed in as well. The car started and drove off and all I was left with was smoke from the exhaust pipe. The cause of my uncontrollable coughing at the moment.

15 minutes later and I'm still standing outside my house waiting for Austin to come pick me up. I let out a sigh and took my phone out of my pocket. I decided to send Austin a text saying that Ryder is going to drop me of or I'll just try to convince him to give me my keys.

I walked towards the house and when I came to the front door I heard a lot of noise in the house. "Sounds like Ryder decided to clean the attic." I mumbled to myself. I opened the front door and saw a lot of boxes in the living room. I heard laughing in the kitchen and made my way towards the source.

Ryder was reading a note and laughing at it. He looked at me and laughed even louder. What's so funny. I also want to read the note.

"Dude, why are you laughing like that?" I asked with a curious smile on my face.

When Ryder stopped laughing, well actually just trying to stop, he looked to me with a big smile.

"What the fuck is a kiss list?
