"Ashleeey..I'm coming to your house in five. We decided to go out and I don't care you're going to come," Emma screeched over the phone. Her voice was really high pitched. It could get annoying when you're really pissed and I was really annoyed with her now. I wasn't even in the mood to go. My day had already been so tiring and exhausting.
"No Emma, I'm not in the mood for hanging out," I said with a monotonous voice.
"You don't have a choice, Ashley. I'm coming home. See you soon..bye," she said. Without hearing my reply, she hung up on me. Emma was adamant when she had to be. I really didn't have any alternative now so I planned on taking hot water shower before she was here.

I found Emma on my bed once I was out of the bathroom. "Before you insist me on applying makeup, I'm telling you I won't apply," I said with a determined face. I'm not going to agree with that bullshit. "Light makeup..please," she requested.
"No Emma. I won't come if you are going to paint my face," I said while rolling my eyes.
"Okay..but you've to wear this top," she said handing me the top. I unfolded to see a red shimmery cloth. It was backless. I wasn't going to wear this at any cost. Neither am I going to look like a disco ball nor am I going to give a free show. "Emma you know I hate such tops! Please don't annoy me now," I said.
"You've to choose between makeup and this top," she said. Oh God what have I put myself into. I was so addled and confused. After a few minutes, I was ready with my decision. "I'll go with the top," I said with an approving face. I rather choose the top than paint my face.
"Finally.. but do you have a white jeans to pair with this top?" She asked me.
"I have no clue Emma," I said without caring.

After scrutinising my wardrobe for the second time, she finally found a white jeans. Handing me my attire, Emma pushed me to bathroom. Fitting myself into the attire, I walked outside the bathroom. I was nervous. I usually never wore such exposing dresses, I didn't know how to handle this one. Emma dropped her phone when she looked up to take a glance at me. I wasn't sure if that was a good sign or a bad one. She was making me insecure. "You look stunning," she said.

Finishing my look with black sneakers, we walked downstairs. The cold air sent chills through my back. I had goosebumps all over back. I was totally regretting the choice I made a few minutes back! Where was everyone? I shouted, "Dad!"
"No one's home Ashley. Your dad asked me to inform you that he and Jake are going out for dinner since you're coming with us," she said while setting her hair for the hundredth time now.

Locking the house, I realised that we didn't have a car. "Emma how are we going to get a ride?" I asked.
"Don't worry Leo is going to give us a ride. Eric is busy with some work," she said. After a few minutes of waiting, I was blinded by the bright lights of the car. The car stopped right in front of us. Leo rolled down the windows of the car and asked us to get in. I called dibs on the shotgun and asked him to play some good music. But Leo would always do the opposite of what you want him to do! Instead of playing the music at a low volume, he increased the volume. I was taken aback by the sudden increase in volume. The blaring music was head-splitting and deafening. I was getting irritated and agitated. I yelled, "LEO DECREASE THE VOLUME. IT'S REALLY LOUD,"
"I CAN'T HEAR YOU," he shouted.
Yeah duh obviously you can't hear me if you keep the volume so high. I rolled my eyes and smacked him.
"YOU LOOK HOT," he yelled amidst the blaring music. Leo could be cocky as hell at times, but it's sweet when he's sweet. "THANKS IDIOT," I shouted. With a lot of lefts and rights, we finally reached the café.

As I opened the door of the café, I saw Jake burst a party popper and everyone started singing the very familiar chorus, "Happy birthday to you..happy birthday dear Ashley.." I loved thesurprise. I could see my dad, Jake, Jason, Eric and my relatives together. Oh such an emotional and wonderful moment! The café was decorated with all the party essentials. White and golden lanterns were hanging around, colourful balloons (except pink) spread all over the floor and everyone were wearing the party props. The room was lit with dim light and and there was a disco ball on the dance floor. Talking about the dance floor, everyone were already swaying their hips in sync with the music. It was my time now! I was really tempted to go to the dance floor but couldn't stop all the wishes and greetings. Excusing myself, I headed to the washroom so that I could escape all the gossips and talks for a while.

"Where do you think you are going to escape?" I turned to look at the person who was reading my mind right now. I couldn't recognise his face because of the huge mask covering his face, but I must say he still looked very attractive. As I was staring he suddenly jerked his head to move his hair; it caught the light and the golden gleam nearly blinded me. His hair itself was like spun gold, each thread falling perfectly, weaving together into curls. Suddenly, he looked up and I caught a flash of his sapphire eyes framed by tangled golden lashes. They were deep and catastrophic, a vivid baby blue as a great body of water that softly melted into a milky green .This close, I could see the flecks of silver in his eyes. He had distinct cheekbones and an angular jaw, his pale skin made him look devilishly handsome. His body was so perfect and brawny. He was slim, muscular, with an almost perfectly symmetrical face. The boy wore a loose black silk shirt and black trousers.
"Stop staring at me lilly," he said with a wink. No. This can't be him. This can't be Zach. Oh my God.. NO. Did I just find him attractive? You've always had a bad choice Ashley, it's okay. But what the hell was he doing here? Why is he at my party? I didn't even invite him and I'm sure my friends wouldn't invite this douché. I was so confused and angry that I wanted to shout at him but not in front of everyone. I grabbed his hand and dragged him to a corner. I yelled, "What the hell are you doing here? It's my party."
"Happy birthday lilly," he said.
"Can you just tell me how did you get here?"
"How does it matter when I'm already here now? By the way I got something for you," he said while handing me a bouquet of flowers; well, those were not roses or tulips, but orange Lillies. I looked up to shout at him but there was something in his eyes. I don't know whether it was pain or happiness. I couldn't read or understand him. He was making me feel so different and uncomfortable hence I planned to look away from him.

"Okay listen, thanks for these Lillies but I'm not sure that I count you as my friend. Don't take me in a wrong way but I choose my friends and you are surely not my friend. Initially, I thought you were annoying me because you were bored but it kept on increasing. I tried controlling myself but now I'm out of control. I'm really sorry but it's the truth," I blurted out. I looked through his eyes to see a flinch of pain. His light blue, sapphire eyes turned dark blue so swiftly that I didn't even realise the sudden change. I felt really bad telling him that but I had no other option. He had to know about it one or the other day.

Just after I blurted out those words, he smiled at me for the first time. He didn't smirk, he didn't sneer but he smiled; a painful one. I was feeling more and more doleful about what I said. I was feeling distressed and disturbed. He slowly turned and headed towards the exit. I wanted to shout sorry but the feind inside me wasn't letting me. My selfishness and ego had reached at its peak. Why was I acting so rude? I was never like this. I could handle my brother for God's sake, but this wasn't my brother. This was some jerk. Again! Where is the angel inside me? I really needed a drink right now. There were so much going on in my head that I was unable to handle myself. I asked the bartender to make a shot for me.

One..two..three..and it continued. I was totally drunk right now. My head was spinning round and round. I just saw some humans dancing around me. I couldn't handle myself or my weight. Somehow, I found Jason. "Tak..ke me ho..ome," I blabbered.
"Don't tell me your drunk Ley!" He exclaimed. I was drunk but I could still sense the insecurity in his voice. He really cared a lot for me. I always felt so protected around him. I never really had to care about others when he was around. I loved my best friend.

"Okay let's get you home now," he said and that was the last thing I remember. In a matter of a second, I passed out; in his arms.
