I had asked Eric to find out Zach's house so that I could meet him in the evening. I don't know why but I asked Eric not to tell anyone about this. I have no clue why I was being pulled closer to him. Shh, it means nothing Ashley. I mentally slapped myself for thinking that. All I wanted was to apologise...
Somehow Eric managed to get his address. He said that he would text me once I get home, well that was okay because I was going to visit his house only in the evening. After school, I planned to take a walk home with Emma. Anyway, I didn't have anything to do at home so I might as well. She took out her earphones and plugged it into her phone. I took one and pushed it in my ear. She played 'Love yourself' by Justin Beiber. This was one of my most favourite songs. It just made me feel so carefree and good about myself.
Walking down the road, I saw a man selling ice cream on the other side of the lane which made me lose control of myself and I was lost into the memories of my mother....
"Come here you naughty little girl," my mum yelled while spraying water at me. We were having a water fight in the lawn outside our house. It was a sunny day and I insisted my mum on playing a game of water fight with me. I just chuckled at her attempt to catch me. I ran all around the lawn to escape from her.
Finally, she caught me and I tried to run away from her with all my effort, but my legs tangled around hers in such a way that we both fell on the fresh green grass. I closed my eyes to prevent the sun rays entering my eyes. She noticed my tiny attempt to prevent the sun rays poking my eyes and blocked the sun with her hands so that there were no rays entering my eyes. I hugged her and the innocent me asked her, "Mommy let's go have ice cream."
"Sure darling," she picked me in her arms and we walked down to the road to find a man selling ice creams on an ice cream cart...A tear rolled down my cheek. Shit. Did I just cry? I wiped it as soon as possible and concentrated on the road. I was distracted by Emma's sudden question, "So what's up with Jason and you lately?"
What was wrong between Jason and I? Everything was going right, wasn't it? "Nothing really, why?"
"No..I just felt that way. Isn't he acting a little weird with you? Even today, when you got up and walked off from the canteen he didn't come behind you like he always does so I thought y'all must have fought or something," Emma said staring at me with her hazel coloured eyes. It kind of hit me now. He was acting different. He hasn't been acting like himself lately. But why? Did I do anything wrong?
"Yeah even I feel so," I said thinking about it for a while. Was he annoyed because I got myself drunk? Nah. He would never judge me. Trying not to think about it more, I decided to call him once I reached home.

When I got home, the first thing I did after I reached my room was called my best friend. I couldn't remove all the things Emma said and maybe it was the truth. Maybe he was ignoring me and I didn't like being ignored, at least not by my best friend for sure. I clicked on the call button and waited for him to pick up. He really needed to learn to pick up calls faster.
"What's up Ashley?" He asked over the phone.
"Ummm..Nothing. I wanted to ask you something?"
"Sure thing," he said with a carefree voice.
"Are you pissed with me or something? I think you've been ignoring me lately," I framed the words correctly so that he wouldn't misunderstand me.
"I would never ignore you Ash. Never in a million years. Don't worry. You're still my annoying piece of poop," he chuckled across the phone. I took a large breath as a result of relief from the bullshit Emma filled in my head.
