Mizu walked with the men for hours until they finally stopped for the night in a small clearing. "I'll collect fire wood." Mizu said turning away. Kisame looked up from his seat against a tree. "I'll come with." he said standing up. She sighed and didn't bother arguing. When she joined Pein had ordered the other members to not let her out of their sight when traveling. They were out of sight from Itachi when he started to speak. "Sorry." she looked up at him. "For what?" He sighed and picked up a stick. "For having to follow you. I know you won't run but leader would have my head." she smiled and laughed lightly. "It's ok." she sighed and picked up a branch. "You're one of the ones I can put up with." she stood in her tippy toes and slung her arm over his shoulders making him come down. They grinned and laughed. Kisame looked at her while she laughed. She looked happy actually. Instead of being sad and mopey like usual. She caught him looking at her and her smile dropped, her face serious. "Quit perving on me, creep" they were both silent and then burst out laughing. "Come on it's already dark and I'm cold." she grabbed the sleeve of his cloak and dragged him behind her.

They built a fire and settled next to it taking in the heat from the flames. The silence that settled over them was almost unbearable. Itachi stood up and walked over to his pack and sat down leaning against a boulder. Mizu looked at him and turn back to the fire, feeling hypnotized by the flames she didn't realize Kisame speaking. "Mizu o! Hello!" he yelled in her ear. She jumped and gasped. "Dammit Kisame!" she slapped his chest and pushed him so he fell back. He laughed a hardy laugh and sat back up slinging his arm over her shoulders and talking in her ear. "It's not my fault you were spacing. I was helping you out." They laughed. "Hey I got a surprise." he said standing up and walking over to his pack. When he came back his hands were accompanied with bottles of sake. She giggled and smiled. "Great idea." He laughed and plopped down on the ground beside her.

They started drinking the two bottles with one each. A slight blush appeared in their cheeks indicating the effects had kicked in. They stood up and hopped around attempting to dance around the fire. Mizu giggled uncontrollably when Kisame tripped and fell flat on his ass. He laughed. Mizu leant over and offered her hand to help Kisame up. He grabbed her hand and she pulled back lifting him up, She tripped and fell back dragging him with her. She crashed to the ground with him landing on top of her. They both grunted and Mizu gasped for hair as it was knocked out of her lungs and the pressure of the large body on top of her. She giggled and he laughed. Then they fell silent. And Kisame looked down at her beneath him. She didn't have time to think before the presence of his lips were on hers. Mizu's eyes widened and then she closed them kissing back. After only a few seconds she broke the kiss and scurried back away from him with wide eyes. She gulped and shook her head taking it in her hands. "No, oh my god. I'm so sorry." she stammered while Kisame pushed himself up from the dirt. He looked flustered and pink tinted his blue skin. She covered her mouth and closed her eyes, mumbling apologies. Kisame chuckled. She looked up confused. "It's my fault I should have figured..." he looked away and stood up. He turned his back to her and started walking away. She looked dumbfounded and quickly spoke. "Figured what?!" she asked crawling forward. Kisame stopped and looked over his shoulder slightly. "Your feelings." he muttered walking away again. She fell back and sat still starting confused after him. The alcohol wasn't letting her think strait so she passed it off and walked over to the fire an laid down to sleep.

The next morning a noise woke Mizu. A cracking like a twig. She opened her eyes and grabbed a kunai still laying down. From the bushes came a fox. She relaxed as is walked to her with it's head low. The Senshi had a bond with animals and the creatures trusted those with the eyes of the Senshi. At the moment her eyes were red instead of the mesmerizing blues and greens that ruled her eyes. She stayed still on the makeshift bed she made with her eyes closed. The fox came up to her and nuzzled her neck to wake her. Mizu sat up and opened her eyes. The fox jumped back and bared it's teeth. She lifted her hand and flashed the true color of her eyes. It stopped and bowed it's head. She smiled and pet it. She established communication with it by looking into his eyes. This could only be done when the animal chose the human.

"Please my lady I need your help."

It asked in a male voice. She responded.

"Why is it you have sought my help?"

"My mate is in trouble. I have not the strength to help."

"Lead me to her. I will help."

"Oh, thank you my lady!"

She stood up and followed the creature into the brush. They walked to a area with rocks fallen about.

"There was a rock slide from the wall."

She walked behind him and saw a another fox under a large rock. Mizu ran to the wounded animal. It whimpered and looked up at the woman. She looked into her eyes.

"I'm here to help you."

"I thank you my lady."

Mizu lifted the stone and examined it's body. Her hind legs were broken and a rib cracked. Mizu used what little medical ninjutsu she knew to heal her.

"She will be fine now but she won't be able to move for a week. Do you have a burrow she can stay in?" She asked the male fox. He nodded. Mizu slowly picked up the injured one and cradled her. He led them farther into the woods to the root of a large tree. Mizu set her down carefully. "There is nothing more I can do." she said leaning back.

"Thank you. We are indebted to you."

She smiled and pet his head. "What is your name?" she asked.

"I am Mirai and this is Maiha." the female fox stood and walked next to her mate.

"But your legs?!" Mizu was confused.

"You have shone the kindness of a mother." Maiha spoke in a powerful tone. "Many tests will come young Hogo-sha." Mirai said in a wise tone.

She stared at them shocked. Behind her she heard Kisame's voice yell her name. She looked in the direction of the voice. When she looked back they were gone. "Wait what do you mean by tests? What is a Hogo-sha?" she stood quickly

"We are the the guardian spirits that protect the world. Soon something drastic will change the world. You are the one who will protect it. We leave you with wisdom."

They spoke in unison.

"Beware the words of the Anwir."

She looked around trying to find the owner of the voice but no one was there.

"Mizu." she turned and saw Kisame. "Are you alright?" he asked. She looked down and gulped. "I-I'm fine." she walked past him and he followed.

She thought on the words of the fox. 'What is the Anwir?'
