"Who said I was giving up my life to the darkness? I'm going to get stronger... To protect you, Kiseki. You're the only light in my entire life, you really are.... Call me an idiot if you'd like, but if we don't at least try...... Nothing will be gained."

I....

I don't like this.

I mean, Hirokei IS a human, right?

He doesn't have enough power...

Yet he says he's going to protect me.

In Kurai Sekai, technology is defective unless it actually originates from it.

On Earth, without proper training, humans are nothing without technology.

Although they live.

I really don't understand.

I shouldn't waste my time on this, it's a sad way to spend the rest of my time here on Earth.

But...

What can Hirokei do, I wonder?

~*~*~*~

( Hirokei's POV )

"Kise!! Kise!!", I called.

No matter how much I called for her, Kise didn't turn around. She just kept on walking, and every time I tried to catch up to her, she'd just speed-walk out of my way.

Seriously, what did I do this time?

"Kise, wait up!!"

I tried running after her, but Kise ran even faster.

What was I, a guy about to be beat by some girl in a race?

I had to think up of something...

It was almost sixth period, and we've been circling around campus for the entire lunch break now.

Honestly, I thought I lost seven kilos by now!!

Suddenly, a devious idea popped in my mind.

To others, it may be kind of rude or perverted, but let them think what they want.

I tackled Kise, just enough for me to hug her from behind while still standing.

Or......

Ah, how should I say this......

Maybe not?

"H-Hirokei, what are you doing.....?!", Kise stammered from under me.

I've seriously, SERIOUSLY, done it now.......

I had both my hands on either side of Kise's head, and the lower half of my body was only a few inches away from hers.

Crap.

I pinned a girl down, right onto the floor.

What the hell is wrong me?

"Um..... Er...... You see.......", I tried to explain.

Kise shut her eyes, then covered her face in her hands.

I could tell she was blushing, really. Her red ears indicated so.

"G-Get off of me...... You....... You pervert!!"

"Yeah....."

I bent my knee, then pushed myself up.

I held out my hand to help Kise up, but...

She instead brushed it off, and stood up on her own.
