------/------

1 1/2 months til me and Caleb can officially leave this place. 1 1/2 months.

"E, come here!" Kieandra screams from the hall outside my door. I get up off my bed and go towards her. I open the door and smile.

"What's up?"

"Ryan is here with 2 other God's. One of them was totally checking me out!" She smirks. I laugh.

"You think a brick wall would be checking you out, I don't think he was." I smile an evil smile at her. Her eyes narrow as she gets a disgusted look on her face.

"Salty." She says and grabs my arm. She pulls me down the stairs to be greeted by Ms. Chevy. Her arms are crossed, her posture is shifted to one foot as if she has been waiting like that for a while, her eyes are narrowed behind her thick, black glasses, and her black hair was in a tight bun.

"Everly, where have you been?" She asks with an imitating voice. I don't answer her. Really, I was just trying to find an excuse as to why I didn't want to come down here and do chores. "Answer me!" She demands loudly. I flinch at her voice and turn head towards the living room. The two families and the three Gods had their eyes on me. I look back at Ms. Chevy.

"My alarm decided to let me sleep in."

"You shall be punished." She says and walks away.

"For what? Being human?" I yell after her. She doesn't turn around. I just watch her until she disappears behind a corner. "I can't wait to leave." I say and make my way to room that has the janitor's closet, but to get to the janitor's closet, I have to go through the living room. I was almost out of the living room when a voice called my name.

"Every?" Ryan asks. I turn on my heels and look at him on the eyes.

"Yes?"

"Is she like this to everyone?"

"No. Just me and Caleb. Although, Caleb tries to stay on her good side. He has a mouth filter unlike me. I say whatever I want, when I want."

"She sounds like a total brat." One of the two guys said.

"Oh trust me, she is."

"Where were you going?" The other guy asks.

"To the janitor's closet, God forbid me not clean. It would be the end of the world if she can't see her reflection in the floors." I sigh and turn back around on my heels.

"I am not allowing you to clean. She shouldn't have a child clean. That is immature." Ryan's mom, Becky, says.

"I have no choice. I already have a punishment for not waking up 5 minutes early. I don't wanna decrease my chance of surviving anymore than I already have." I shrug and start to walk out the living room. I feel someone pick me up and my eyes go wide. I turn my head frantically to see Ryan.

"Chill out. It's just me." I gently hit him in the arm. He puts his hand over his heart and acts like it hurt him. "Ow." He said sarcastically. I stick my tongue out at him.

"You baby," I say and put my lip, "why don't you just cry about it." He just rolls his eyes and drags me deeper into the living room. "What are you doing?"

"I'm not allowing you to just do what she says. You aren't a prisoner, so she doesn't have to treat you like one." She shrugs. I smile and let him drag me into the living room.

"Alright kiddos, we're gonna finish the paperwork. Y'all have fun." The family says and leaves the room.

"What do you guys want to do?" A guy asks.

"Learn each other's names." The other one says. "I'm Anthony."

"Johnathan."

"Ryan." Ryan says. "But you already knew that." He winks.

"Everly, nice to meet you guys." I say. I get a chorus of 'you too's back.
