Later at the hospital the doctor told you that the damage in your wrist was so server that he wants you to stay in the hospital for a few days. After the nurse had left the room you noticed that Jeff was sitting in the chair across from your bed. He was sitting with his legs spread apart, his elbows on each knee, his hands clammed together, and looking down. He looked like he was a mix of sad and angry, and this was very unsettling to you.
"Jeff, are you okay?" you asked, he was silent for a moment then all of a sudden he muttered.
"I'm sorry..." his voice was deep and low.
"Pardon?"
"I'm sorry okay!" Jeff raised his voice, sounding a bit angry.
"Sorry? Sorry for what?" you asked with a little confusion in your voice. He was silent for moment, then he stood up keeping his eye contact away from you, walk towards the window and stared outside.
"I'm sorry I couldn't get to you in time, I shouldn't have left the grounds" his response surprised you.
"Jeff...it's not your fault..."
"It is! I'm the one who said I would protect you and yet here you are in the fucking hospital because some bitch broken your wrist!" Jeff yelled. His yelling frightened you but you stood your ground.
"Jeff stop it! Like I said its not your fault this isn't the first time she has done this to me!" then you realized what you said and covered your mouth. Jeff was silent and turned to face you with a shocked look on his face.
"What?! She did this before! How? When?" Jeff suddenly became anxious to know. You sighed and began to explain the story. When you and Brooke were in fourth grade, you and a group of friends were playing a game to the point were you guys were climbing a tree. You and Brooke started to have an argument about the game and it got to the point where you were hitting each other. It got so bad that she pushed you out of the tree, fell and broke your wrist and all Brooke did was stay up in the tree, laugh, and say 'I win'. Once you finished your story, Jeff's jet black hair covered his eyes and he looked like he was back to that mix of sad and angry feeling.
"Jeff?" you asked with a little concern in your tone. He looked out the window and sighed. You were a little worried now because you had no idea how he was going to react, he just stood there with no expression. Then he turned and was making his way towards your bed, you started to tremble a little. He still had that expressionless look on his face with his hair covering his face, then he placed one leg on the edge of your bed, leaned towards you and wrapped his arms around you; tightly. This sudden action made you very confused.
"I promise...from this day on...no one will ever hurt you again" Jeff whispered into your ear. This sudden promise shocked you that tears were dripping down your cheeks and you hugged him back just as tightly. You never heard this from anyone before that it filled you with all sorts of emotions that you couldn't explain. Jeff pulled away and started to wip the tears off your face with his hands. Then he cupped your face to look him in the eye.
"Please...no more crying...it doesn't suit you" Jeff said as he slightly smiled at you. This caused your face to blush. Then suddenly Jeff began to lean in closer to your face, as his eyes began to slightly close.
'I think...he's going to...' you thought in your head as his face started to get closer. His lips were inches away from yours when suddenly there was a knock at the door. You awaken from the sudden daze.
"C-come in" you said. A nurse entered.
"Sorry sir but I have to ask you to leave, the hospital is closing and I have to get her some medicine" the nurse simply said. Jeff didn't look happy but he sighed in defeat.
"Alright give me a minute" Jeff told the nurse, then he turned his attention back to you.
"I will be back first thing in the morning...in the meantime I'm going back to do a bit of research on whats going on in your nightmare and more information on Mindfreak" Jeff said.
"Okay please be safe" you simply put.
"I will I promise...also don't worry I won't be leaving you here alone" you were a little confused about what Jeff said. The nurse told him again to leave and before he did, Jeff planted a little kiss on your forehead and whispered 'goodnight' to you.
As soon as he left the room you began to wonder on what he meant by "not leaving you here alone' and why does your face feel so warm and your heart beating so fast all of a sudden. Jeff walked outside the building and a few feet away, he was speaking to a familiar stranger.
"I want you to keep an eye on her for the night, can you do that?" Jeff asked the figure in front of him.
"No problem Jeff...I will keep her safe" the figure said with confidence.
"Good...she is on the second floor room 238...I'm trusting you" Jeff instructed.
"Don't worry Jeff...you know I can handle this"
"Alright...and thanks again" Jeff said as he walked off for the night. The thought of Jeff leaving you for the night kinda scared you because if you had that nightmare again, he wouldn't be there to calm you down. But tonight, you were about to meet a new face of the creepypasta gang.
