Chapter 7: When Rogues Attack

Marcus P.O.V

I walked out the back with Carson and Caleb beside me, I didn't get why we had to search for rogues when there hasn't been any recent attacks. Even though Caleb and I are the alphas, Dads words come first.

I would've guessed that we'd be paired in the same teams, but I heard dad's voice over all the loud voices,"I know you already have your usual teams, but this time were gonna pick New people."

He continued,"Okay Marcus your with Jessie, and Caleb your with Carson." He assigned the other teams, but I was too distracted with the whole new partner deal.

Caleb ran to my side and growled,"I can't believe he assigned you with Her." He pointed over to Jessie who was talking to the other girls. I sighed in defeat," I know,I'm not a big fan of it either, but it's dad's orders, and we'll have to live with it." Caleb was pulled away by Carson, and the whole time Caleb was glaring at Jessie.

So when everyone was set, we all shifted and took off in the woods, the ground beneath my feat, and the strong wind blowing, it was the perfect night for a search! Hence my sarcasm. When we stopped at a certain point, some teams went one way and some the other.

Jessie lucky for me, didn't try to flirt with me, a thing I was very glad for. Her nose sniffed the air and growled, I walked over to her and frowned. Her head tilted towards a cave about 20 ft away. It did look suspicious so I followed her towards it, it gave me weird vibes the closer I got. When we reached the cave, she sent me telepathically, I'll go first.

I shook my head, No matter how much she annoys me, I had to protect my pack, so I headed in first.

It was pitch dark but I could see with my night vision, it was empty with no sign of life, I didn't know why Jessie wanted to check here. Just when I run my smart mouth, small sounds of steps came towards me, I turned around quickly and saw not one but multiple wolf's.

I could tell they were rogues by their scent, I growled and took slow steps towards them, making sure they knew that I was not to be messed with. The largest one growled at me, before slowly closing in on me. I was an Alpha but I did have limits, and these werewolves were larger than normal ones.

So I tilted my head up and let a long and echoing howl. I was sure that at least one person of my pack would hear and come running, but until then I had to hold them off.

Jessie's P.O.V (Surprise?)

I was a bit surprised to hear that I was paired up with Marcus, I mean the guy hates me. The only reason I snuck into this stupid pack was to capture one of the twins and hold them captive until the leader gets what he wants in return.

I just told you my entire plan, and I'm supposed to be the spy? But the more time I spent with Marcus I was beginning to slowly grow feelings for him, and I felt kinda bad leading him to a death trap. His annoying twin won't even let me get within 10 ft of him before trying to murder me.

I didn't know why the leader wanted Caleb when I was perfectly fine with capturing Marcus.

I somehow knew that there was something going on between Caleb and Marcus, but I still don't have enough evidence to prove anything, and as my cover I can't go running my mouth off about the alphas being gay lovers. Not only would I be banished which I wouldn't care by, but locked in an asylum hospital as well.

So I just kept my mouth shut about it. Tonight was the rogue search and it made me have butterflies in my stomach, I was supposed to be happy about capturing Marcus and have him be mine for a bit, but now that the tables have turned on my feelings I'm now not sure about it.

So now back to the present, I was almost to the spot where the ambush was gonna happen. I played innocent by sniffing the air and growling, he actually trusted me and followed me along.

I was starting to have second thoughts but it was too late as Marcus entered the cave and the rogues showed up. They were snarling and growling at him, closing in and blocking Marcus from escaping. The plan was much less terrifying then the actual action, so I just stood in the background taking it all in.

He howled and I'm sure that someone would show up soon, most likely Caleb his nose browsing twin. I could easily identify who was part of it, the largest wolf of the three was our leader, apparently he wanted to capture Marcus himself with the help of his stupid puppy dog followers.

I wasn't sure of how this was about to go down, and I was a bit scared to find out.

Caleb's P.O.V

I was distracted the while time as I saw Jessie smile at me before taking off with Marcus. That girl was really on my list of people who annoy the crap out of me . But I had to take my alpha business first, so sadly Marcus had to wait.

I wondered the woods in my human form because I was to lazy to shift, but Carson stood by my side as the omega he would protect me. I was so bored that I started singing to myself,"Tell me whatcha want what you really want, I wanna I wanna-" Carson pushed me by his side, and I fell over,"Hey no pushing the alpha!"

I could see through all that fur his eyes rolling. I turned around even in my human form I could still hear like an owl. I heard soft sounds of paws coming forward us from the right,"Carson two at left!"

He nodded and jumped just in time to attack the rogue, I don't get why so many rogues keep on showing up, they know we're gonna kick their asses.

I was cheering him in,"Yeah you punch Him in the well, that may be not appropriate choice of words so I'll just wait back here." Carson sent me a grateful nod and punched the living day lights out of the rogue.

I looked around making sure no rogues were coming, I know I sound a bit lazy but all that's happened the past few days I need a second to catch my breath. I layed my head back gently against the tree and watched as Carson tore apart the two rogues.

I sighed as I closed my eyes for a breath, but just when I relax I heard some loud sounds of growling and a cry of pain, I opened my eyes and saw that the rogues disappeared and Carson on the floor barely moving. I ran over in panic,"Carson, hey can you hear me?!"

He mumbled Something, but what distracted me was why would the rogues just leave, that made no sense. I looked down and tried to remain calm,"Don't worry I'll get help." I moved his face around to get the words he was trying to form,"G-go save Marcus, h-he's in danger."

My eyes widened, I let go of his head, which caused it to hit the ground and groan,"Sorry, I'll get help later, bye."

I took off quickly dodging trees and rivers, I stopped to look around, he has to be here somewhere? But where was the question, it was answered by a long and needing howl in the far distance.

And I knew who exactly was in need, Marcus. Just when he's paired with Jessie things need to happen.

I know I haven't updated and its still the same chapter but I'll start working on the next chapter by tomorrow it will almost be completed thanks for the reads :)
