Ch 15: Sick

A streak of sunshine pierced through the curtains. It rolled and tumbled and landed on Hoya's face. His nose twitched and his eyes screwed shut before he opened his eyes only to shut them again due to the intense light. He rolled over and opened his eyes only to find a figure facing him.

Jillian's sleeping figure was calm, innocent even. Hoya chuckled at his own thoughts as he remembered the not-so innocent things they did last night. It was his first, but he highly doubts it was hers.

Hoya sat up, letting the white blanket slide down his torso, and lightly shook Jillian. A deep growl erupted from her throat as her face twisted into one of discomfort. She forced open her eyes with great difficulty and stared at Hoya for a minute or two in silence. After her drowsy mind registered the fact that both of them were naked in bed, her eyes went wide and she shot up in alarm.

A whole bunch of curses aimed at the mirror across from them rolled off Jillian's tongue as she bend down to pick up clothes littered here and there. Hoya just watched in amusement as Jillian threw on her clothes and threw his clothes in his face.

"Ya really fucked up this time Jillian, having it with someone underage, really!" Jillian muttered to herself before turning to Hoya. "Do me a favour and pretend this never happened."

Hoya felt like a knife stabbed him through the heart.

"Why?" Hoya asked, trying to keep his voice steady but failing to.

"I don't love you, okay? It was-" Jillian hesitated and sighed. "Hormones, it was hormones."

Hoya stared down at the fist tightening in the sheets. He never felt more hurt than he did now. Tears started to gather in his eyes but he refused to let them fall. She's right. They're both young, wild. They don't think of the consequences at this age.

The door slammed open and there stood an open mouthed Rinny.

"What did you fucking do?!" Rinny exclaimed. "You had sex with... HIM?!"

Jillian scoffed and threw the last of Hoya's clothes at him. "Quit your yapping, you know I can't get pregnant unless it's with my soul mate."

"You have to stop doing this every month! Have you ever thought of his feelings?" Rinny looked back at Hoya with pity in her eyes.

Hoya silently put on his clothes and left while the two were arguing.

L felt the side of his bed sink down and groaned, turning over. He struggled a bit before opening his eyes. Right after his eyes concentrated, he widened them in shock and sat up. Beside him, naked in bed, draped in sheets, was the one and only Kimberly Marie.

Her blue eyes scanned his handsome features and smirked, making L's pulse quicken. His eyes darted to her neck and saw two marks there. That's when his heart stopped.

"Did I-"

"You did." Kimberly confirmed, tracing her fingertips over the bite mark L gave her.

"How- How are you still alive?" L asked frantically, shocked by the fact that he didn't woke up to a corpse.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm a feeder."

L swallowed hard and gritted his teeth. "How much?"

Kimberly traced the mark on her neck to her left wrist, where an identical mark rested. She then flipped opened the sheets to show L another mark on her inner thigh.

"I- I'm not immortal." L said weakly. "I'll die sooner or later, I have no time."

"I won't charge you this time." Kimberly leaned in and stared at his face for a good minute. "Second son of the Great Kim Family." L jumped visibly and back away to the edge of the bed. "You're one of the escaped vampires. The government is putting a rather large price tag on your head."

"I- I have to go." L quickly made his way out the door.

The first thing he did was bang on Sung Gyu's door. "I'm coming! Hold your horses!" The door swung open to reveal Sung Gyu with sleepy eyes. His eyes widened when he saw L panicking at his door. "L, what happened?"

L quickly scrambled into the room and locked the door behind him. "She knows." That was all it took to send Sung Gyu into a frenzy of questions.

"When did this happen? How did she get to you? How much did she take? Did you-"

"I did." L confirmed. "It was last night, I didn't remember the details but I woke up in her bed. I bit her thrice."

"Gah! Now she'll probably take all the time you have." Sung Gyu ran his hands through his hair and sat down on the bed.

"She said she wouldn't charge me." Sung Gyu let out a sigh of relief. "But she knows I'm the second son of the Great Kim Family, that means she might know who you are as well."

Sung Gyu was about to open his mouth but a knock came at the door. "Mr Kim! Are you coming with us to the beach? Is L coming?" Sung Yeol.

"I'll be there in a moment." Sung Gyu replied and a set of footsteps could be heard descending the stairs. Sung Gyu looked back at L. "Stay in here, we're leaving tomorrow."

"I don't want to leave." L said boldly, causing Sung Gyu to jump in shock. "I... have friends, I like having friends." L said quietly.

Sung Gyu sighed. "I'll find a way. Before that, stay in your room."

L obeyed.

"Hey, where's Jillian?" Hoya asked as the two girl set up.

"Sick." Kimberly answered shortly.

"Where's L?" Sung Yeol asked.

"He's also sick." Sung Gyu answered, kicking the chair open.

"Whoa, what did that chair ever did to you?" Dong Woo asked, chuckling.

Sung Gyu grunted and took a seat, glaring at Kimberly from the corner of his eye.

L felt the need to use the bathroom so he sneaked out. More of showering than using the toilet really. He took a hot shower and walked back to his room. As he pass by Jillian's room, he heard a growling sound come from it. Out of pure curiosity, he peeked into the room.

Sung Gyu rubbed his tired eyes and continued to watch Kimberly like a hawk, not taking any chances.

"Hyung!"

Sung Gyu turned towards the voice and found L running towards him with wet hair and a towel. "L! What are you doing? I told you-"

"I- I just- I saw-" L sputtered nonsense to Sung Gyu and everyone else started to gather around.

Sung Gyu shook L by the shoulders. "What is it? Spit it out!"

"I saw- I saw a werewolf."
