"Are you going to tell me why we're in this part of town?" Chase asked, his voice reaching over the sound of the country music blaring through the truck's speakers.

"Are you going to turn this crap off?" I asked simply, looking over to his frowny face, while quirking an eye brow at him.

He reached his large hand out to turn off the music, muttering something about liking it under his breath. I smirked at my little victory, and at the fact that he had forgotten all about the previous question he had just asked me. He followed the windscreen wipers back and forth on the windshield with his grey eyes, the rain had picked up since my visit to Mi's house.

We were driving down one of the back roads because the main one would be jammed with people driving out to get lunch. Chase swerved around a sharp bend and then pulled into a pull-off with one of those bright orange SOS phones on the side.

After I realised that he wasn't stopping to make a phone call or something stupid like that I asked in an irritated voice, "Why did you stop?" I needed to get to Austin's before my anger had subsided, because if that happened I wouldn't be able to punch him, I needed to be running on adrenaline, otherwise my brain knows exactly what is going on and makes me feel guilty, Which I hate.

And that's what was going to happen if we didn't keep moving.

Chase looked back at me, his face the opposite of mine. completely relaxed, calm, easy.

"Well," he started, slouching back in his seat and putting his arms up to cradle his head, "It's quite comfy in here, and I have no reason to be wasting my gas for someone who doesn't even like me, especially, when they wont even tell me why I am using it, for all I know you could be making me drive all the way out here to pick up some cotton for your sewing machine. So unless you tell me, we're staying here." He finished by shutting his eyes like he could just fall asleep and wriggling in his seat a little bit.

An exasperated sigh left my lips, I let my hands curl into fists and had to hold back punching him in the face. Of course I didn't, If he cracked a knee I wouldn't have a lift and I don't think I'd be in my family's good books if I broke their new best friend.

"I need to see someone." I said not exactly lying, because I would be seeing Austin...

Cowering on the floor clutching his soon to be broken rib.

Chase didn't open his eyes, he didn't even move, I was about to repeat myself, afraid he hadn't heard me when he said, "I need more details. Who? Why?"

I ground my teeth together, I suppose he did have a right to know why he was driving me the other side of town, but damn, I hated nosey people. "His name is Austin." I ground out hoping no further explanation was needed.

I saw his jaw twitch, it was only there for a second but I definitely saw it.

"Is he your boyfriend?" He asked me almost robotically, like he was reciting lines from a script.

I almost laughed, My boyfriend? Why would anyone want to be my boyfriend? I'm just the girl who hangs around with Ash and Mi. I'm the girl who some people may recognise from class or from a football game. The girl who has a nick name that's better known that my real name, The girl who wears boys clothes. I am just that girl. That girl.

I held back my laugh, "No, He isn't. But he was Mi's and he did something horrible to her and i need to teach him a lesson, so if you wouldn't mind," I gestured towards the road off to me right, "I'm kind of in a hurry."
