'Black blood cells. They are the only things that is used to differentiate us from those monsters. Vampires are usually born with their bodies full of black blood cells and only one white blood cell, which dies after a while, while in humans it's the other way around. In our bodies, the white blood cells protect our red blood cells and rid our bodies from diseases, in the vampire's body, the black blood cells devour their red blood cells, which is the reason they devour us, in order to refill their bodies. There is an upside to the black blood cells though. To make up for taking blood from them, they create a hormone, which gives the vampires special abilities as well as lengthening their life span. There are known cases of hybrids being born between the two kinds, but most die once it passes the age of five years old, due to the fact that the black blood cells and the white blood cells end up fighting each other until there is nothing to keep their bodies safe from horrible diseases. There is only one known way to prevent this from happening, and that is to stabilize the cells, and there is only a 12% chance of that possibility.'
That was an excerpt from a book I read which goes by the name of 'Living With Vampires: Secrets to the Vampire World.' I slammed the book shut and shoved it back into its place onto the library's bookshelf.
I was so frustrated with the thought that people are just fine with being called similar to vampires. Like, seriously, those monsters murder hundreds of people a day, and they dare to say we're just like them?
I stormed out of that section of the library, with my steps echoing on the tile floor. I felt a warm sensation rest on my shoulder, so I turned around, alarmed and ready to fight, only to see that it was the librarian.
"Is something wrong?" she asked as the light gleamed off her red glasses, and her brown hair consistently fell in front of her left eye.
"Oh, no, everything is just fine," I lied with an assuring smile.
She chuckled, "Oh really? Well tell that to the 4,000 yen tile you just broke," she said as she pointed to the tile six steps behind me,
The smile was swept off of my face as I left the library with my newly emptied pockets.I sighed into the cold air of November hugging myself to keep warm, while slowly walking on the sidewalks. Snow was beginning to fill the streets, for even the edges of each building were covered in thick snow.
Slowly walking in thought, I heard a faint scream, coming from north east of my current location. Instinctively, I began to run, to the direction of the sound. It felt as if I was running for hundreds of miles before I got there. The area where the sound was supposed to be coming from, between two buildings that were hidden by two large companies.
On the ground, was a the dead body of a black haired female, whose blood was soaked in the snow. The body was surrounded by five vampires. I could tell because each of them had red eyes that shown brightly in the dimly lighten alley.
I held my right hand, causing the cold metallic darts to sweep out of my sleeves into my fingers. With one movement of my arm, a dart was sent right threw the head of one out of the five. As his body fell, the other four looked my way.
"Y-y-you're that vampire hunter aren't you?" asked the vampire with laid back silver hair and a dark skin tone.
He walked closer to me with his finger pointing to my face, so I casually stepped back.
I smirked, "I see, I must be popular around these parts," I shifted the metallic darts between my fingers, "Well take a good look, because I'll be the last thing you'll ever see."
I sent off all darts in my hand, but each vampire evaded them, then began running away, so I began to chase them.
They were almost gone out of sight, but unfortunately for them, times like these usually give me a boost of adrenaline. They turned into an old broken down house and I stupidly followed behind.
Upon entering the house, I saw nothing but dust on the ground. As I advanced, the door swung closed, and several vampires emerged from each corner of the house.
The silver haired vampire I spoke to earlier, pointed at me and began laughing, "I'm sorry dude, but it looks like we'll be the last thing YOU see."
They all came at me at once. I never got the chance to count them all but I guess there's around fifteen of them.
I unsheathed two of my rogue knives, and swung to whoever came near me, but I touched no one.
I felt many of their hands and feet make contact with my skin, but I still continued fighting. My hands were already bleeding due to how tightly I was holding onto the knives, but that didn't matter once I felt teeth sink into my shoulder.
My body became numb and I could no longer move. It was pointless to continue fighting, so I took a huge gulp, ready to accept my fate.
That's when my life began to change

In a flash of pink, the head of one vampire was gone. Standing over his fallen body was a pink haired mistress, wearing a brown robe. Her hair stopped at the lowest level of her neck, her skin was also pale and glistened in the darkness.
She moved so quickly, my eyes couldn't process her movements, but in no time, all vampires were laying helplessly on the floor. When she was done, she took hold of my hand and her cold skin sent thrills up my spine.
"Let's go," she said, "They won't be down forever."
She began to run while holding my hand, and I ran as fast as I possibly could, just to prevent her from being able to tear my arm off.
She brought me to the side of a small house around, two blocks away from the other house.
She turned to face me,"Crap, they already bit you!" she said while slowly removing my black leather jacket.
She turned to the entrance of the area and blocked it with dark flames. She then returned and continued with what she was doing before.
"Wha-what are you doing?" I asked while pulling myself away from her, "Stay back you vampire!"
She closed the distance between us, then held tightly onto my arm, "I'm taking the poison out of your body, you dumbass, now shut up before I change my mind."
With that said, she pulled on my arm and sunk her teeth into the wounded area. I tried my best not to scream, mainly because I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of a girl that might be saving my life.
When she eased her teeth out of my skin, I immediately felt relieved and all numbness from earlier was gone.
"Thank you, I might not kill you because of that," I smirked.
She gave off a slight giggle, "You're wel-come....." Her sentence was interrupted when a large blade was sent through her back, making its way through her torso.
Large amounts of blood spewed into my mouth as well as my wounds, due to the fact that she was standing directly in front of me.
I looked behind her as she fell, only to see that the flame was already beginning to disappear and standing directly outside were three vampires from earlier, who came for their revenge.
