Running.......for the one thing I love more than my life......my pride.

"Miss Corneillia, Wake Up!" I shifted in my bed, trying my utmost best to prevent myself from waking up.

"Miss Corneillia, Sir Shouji wants to see you!" I felt someone's foot go against my back and before I could react, I was sent tumbling off of my bed.

I got up, mad at one of my uncle's followers, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING IN MY ROOM??" I yelled.

"Sir Shouji wants to see you," he replied.

"So? What if I was doing something inappropriate?" I asked.

"That's why God gave us eyelids, so that it can be as simple to close them," he chuckled.

Chase Gusto, the one vampire in this clan who actually knows how to get on my nerves. His blue hair is always hung low and stops at the center of his back. He was a whole year older than me, but only slightly taller. With his orange eyes twinkling he stood beside me and said, "You need to hurry, we both know how Sir Shouji hates to wait."

I put on some casual clothes, such as my pink blouse that I won last year when I cosplayed as Sakura, and a pink skirt with a pattern of vertical stripes.

I made my way downstairs to see my uncle and he ended up greeting me with a hug, "Hey, Corneillia my darling, nice to see you," he pushed me away and held my shoulders, "I have to cut this short because I have places to be, meanwhile I want you to take care of something for me, and make it quick, got that?"

I nodded and right as he was about to leave, he paused and smirked, "My second in command."

I didn't ask any questions because I knew he'd explain to me later. He left a not on the counter, giving the address and the name of the guy I should 'take care of.'

I didn't bring any backup, because my uncle made it clear enough on the written note that I was dealing with a mere human.

Although it was day, the clouds blocked the sunlight, making it strongly resemble around 6:30 pm, which was a better condition for me than normal, because a vampire's weakens in the sunlight.

When I arrived at the house I was confused as to why my uncle would take this human as a client. The house had leaks everywhere and due to its condition, any normal person would see it as a shack rather than a house. Just the snow, leaning on the various sides was enough to break through the walls of the house, so who would want to live in a dump like that? Even though I have no authority to question it, I just had to.

I slowly advanced up to the house, being cautious of my every step. From the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of something moving around to the side of the house.I hesitated at first but I ended up leaping after what I saw. I then stood before a man, who looked like he was in his forties, scared out of his mind.

I looked at the description on the note, then looked back at the man in front of me.... It was a match. I put away the note and advanced. As if seeing my intentions in my eyes, he yelled, "Please don't kill me! I know I didn't pay you enough, but I can't........ She's my only child, I can't just give her away," he was now in tears before me.

I looked at him in confusion, "Would you care to explain?"

He nodded at me and began, "A few weeks back Shouji and I made a deal, I needed someone to disappear, because he was threatening to hurt my daughter, and I'm always broke, so Shouji said, in order for him to do it, I needed to give up my daughter to become a vampire like him......................... BUT I JUST CAN'T DO IT!" he exclaimed.

I held his head between my palm and whispered, "I won't let anything happen to your daughter, ok?"

He nodded at me then whispered, "Thank you."

"I hope you will be able to keep that promise, second in command," said a voice that I knew all too well.... which meant my uncle was nearby.

He walked out of the shadows with the head of a girl in his hands as he squeezed some of her blood into his mouth, "Before it's too late."

The men began to shriek at the top of his voice, but then my uncle stepped on his head, squashing it, "Shut up you old hag," he said returning his attention to me.

My heart was beating faster than I could process my thoughts. As he neared me, I did the one thing that kept popping into my head....... RUN.

I ran and ran, until I was finally tired, which took a while, since my ability is speed.

I stopped to catch my breath, and during that moment, I over heard a conversation that proved to be helpful.

"You ready for the ambush?" asked a very masculine voice.

"Yeah, that vampire hunter's gonna pay," said a lightly softer voice.

I currently know of no vampire hunter, and I never knew of any, ever since the death of Sebastian's parents.

Just the thought of it, brought back memories of that night....... the night he broke my heart.

In order to find out more about this new vampire hunter, I decided to turn the corner and follow them. I was eventually led to a broken down house where I saw four other vampires rush in.

I followed, trying my best not to be caught, so I used the walls to climb up to the metal zinc on the roof and watched from there.

In a matter of seconds, I was surprised as to the sight in front of me. It took me a while to process it, but after all that time..... I finally got to see Sebastian again.

I jumped in when I could and immediately got him away from the area, knocking out others in my way.

I blocked the path with some simple dark magic that my tutor taught me a while back. I got rid of the poison implanted into Sebastian's body, while we had a little chat, and based on how it went..... I doubt he remembers me.

After I healed him, I got up, cause I was ready to leave. I felt a strong burning sensation in my back which quickly made it's way to my torso. I looked down at Sebastian, with tears in my eyes, ready to say goodbye, but that's when I saw something that I never thought could be real.

Sebastian was looking in the distance, his right eye was minty blue as always, but his left eye was red....... the red of a vampire's eye.
