I Got A Youtube Channel - A Joe Sugg Story

Chapter Five

So, just before the youtube party I was terrified. I’d never been to a thing like this and what the hell do you wear to it!? And what if people aren’t actually as nice as they seem in the videos? What if they realise I’m a newbie and don’t include me in things...or what if I get horrendously drunk and embarrass myself? There is so much that could go wrong.

Also, I stupidly hadn’t organised to meet Joe outside or anywhere beforehand. So I was going to be walking into the lions den by myself. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.  I paused outside the main entrance and took a deep breath. I can do this.

I walked into the building and got directed to the lift. As I walked in I realised I wasn’t the only one who had just arrived. I was in a lift with Jack and Finn Harries.

What was I supposed to do!? I’d never met them before let alone talked them. They probably had no idea who I was. So I did what any 21st century person does. I took out my phone and pretended to text.

But they must have suddenly noticed me because I started to hear some whispering. Shit did I look awful? Was I not actually supposed to be here!? WHY WAS THIS LIFT SO SLOW?!?

Then I felt a tap on my shoulder.

‘Sorry. But your Oli right? From OliSparksIt?’ Jack said with a grin. All I could do was nod.

‘Not going to lie. We’ve seen most of your videos. We basically binge watched them.’ Finn joined in.

‘Oh?’ Is all I could say. I tried to smile. I could feel my hands shaking.  

‘Nervous huh?’ Jack said looking down at my hands. I nodded in response again.

‘It’s my first youtube event...’ I finally managed to say.

‘No way! Well then we are honoured to be the first people you meet.’ Jack said, putting his hand on my shoulder, making me feel more calm.

‘There’s really no need to worry. Everyone is brilliant.’ Finn added.

‘And if not, you now have us to look after you.’ Jack linked his arm with mine just as the lift stopped.

Finn walked around to my other side and linked with my other arm. ‘The party awaits milady’

Walking out of the lift with a harries twin on each arm is definitely the best way to enter into your first youtube event. 

Soon the drinks were flowing and I was steadily feeling more and more at ease.

I’d been drinking and dancing with jack and finn since I’d got there, I’d also met Louis cole and his sister darcy along with Marcus, Caspar,  Troye and Tyler. They must be visiting England for a bit. Luckily I had drunk enough to have the confidence to speak to them without losing my cool.

I then heard Marcus yell ‘ALFIE’ and run over to the nearest the door where Alfie was holding hands with Zoe. So joe must have come with them right? But he wasn’t with his sister...

He better be coming after he persuaded me too! I scanned through the crowd to see if I could see him...

‘Looking for someone?’ I heard behind me. I then looked around to see Joe stood there with a big smile on his face.

I hit him lightly on the shoulder.  ‘You had me worried! I thought I’d have to do this by myself!’
