-About a week later-

All week I have been learning things from the professor, and all week he has been learning things from me. He teaches me to speak english and about how humans interact, and about technology as well. There's lots of that, and it's hard to understand. One thing I don't particularly like are pokeballs. How do big pokemon fit into such small capsules? Surely it is like a prison to them? He is learning the extent of my abilities, as well as how I lived before, with the pokemon. I teach him some edible plants and other things, all of which he wrote down in a notebook. I learned we are in the Solara region of the world. I also learned that although many regions have specific pokemon to be found there, ours is unique because it has almost all types of pokemon.

Professor Jared said that he put my DNA results in a highly exclusive data bank so that other scientists in other regions can study them and more can be found out about me, and other pokemon as well. He also says that he did this because he wants to find out where I came from, and how I was made. He says that it is imposable for me to have been created from natural circumstances. I don't mind, because I have always known that I don't belong. Maybe now I'll find out.

When I woke up, over breakfast Professor Jared said that we are going to have a visitor today. It's a good thing that I hide my tail under my shorts and my ears under my hat, I thought to myself.

"A visitor? What for?", I ask. I'm always eager to meet new people, most of which are the professor's lab assistants or his colleagues.

"A young man that is going to be collecting his first partner, so he may begin his pokemon journey", is his reply. Over my stay here he has told me about people and their adventures capturing and battling pokemon. The stories interest me and give me a longing to be free again. I often find myself jealous of the hero or heroin, often wishing that I myself may go on an exciting adventure and make friends like them. I have never expressed my feelings to the professor though, for I am grateful to him and do not wish to seem otherwise.

"He will be arriving shortly." True to his word, not minutes after we were finished with breakfast, a lab assistant came in and announced the arrival of our visitor. We walk over to greet him, and his appearance intrigued me.

He was about average height, with black hair that was short in the back and longer in the front. His bangs covered one eye completely, and just about all of the other eye as well. His eyes were a dark blue, from what I could see. He wore a black backpack, which I assumed was filled with all things necessary for his adventures. He had a red short sleeved T-shirt, black skinny jeans, and black sneakers with red markings. How could he see with his hair like that?

I smiled and said "Hello, my name is Luna. What's yours?"

He takes in my appearance, then, avoiding eye contact, simply says "Dameon". I'm surprised that he didn't comment on any of my visible markings. He then walks over to the professor, and after minimal conversation, a pokeball is given to him, and another five along with a pokedex. Dameon puts the pokedex in his pocket and the pokeballs in his belt, before thanking Professor Jared and turning to leave.

"Wait!", I yell, before I can even think about it. What has come over me? He turns around, surprised, ans says "Yes?". The professor turns to look at me as well.

"W-well I...... Can I go with you? Please? I won't be a burdon I swear! And-"

"Sure", he cuts me off, "I guess".

I turn to the professor and beg him silently with my eyes. He seems to get it, and says, "It's your choice, just be careful". I instantly know he's talking about my abilities and my ears and tail. I nod my head. He then continues. "Besides, I think it will be good for you". I glance at Dameon, who is waiting patiently by the door and throw him a quick smile without checking his responses. "I'll call you on your pokegear if anything comes up about you, okay?", he whispers. I nod my head. Then he exclaims, "I have a special task i'd like to ask of you, because I believe that you are most capable for it, Luna. Now, if you will follow me, Dameon as well".

We follow him to the back where he uncovers a glass case containing a black pokemon egg. "Luna, if you will, please take this egg as your pokemon. Take good care of it, and call me when it hatches". I nod my head and gently pick up the egg. "I had one of my assistants pack you a bag, so it's all ready", he says gesturing to the person in a lab coat that just walked into the room.

I take it from him and thank him, putting the white backpack on. "It's full of everything you will need", Professor Jared says, "It also has six pokeballs as well as a pokedex". We were all ready to leave so I said my goodbyes and walked out the door with Dameon.

As we started walking I decided to make some small talk. "So, what pokemon did you pick?"

"Chimchar."

"Oh." Thinking of what else to say I put my finger to my lip with a 'hmmm'. "Where are we going?"

"Cyclone town. It's only about four or five miles from Thunder town, so it's the perfect place to start." I assumed Thunder town is where the professors lab is. "Sorry if I don't talk much, I'm not really used to it."

"Oh, that's ok. We don't have to talk I guess, if you don't relly want to."

"I don't mind. I'm better at listening though."

Brushing him off I say, "So why'd you let me come with you?"

His face seemed to get red at this. Strange. "I-I just thought you looked like good company, thats all", he said looking away.

"Oh, okay. So whats going on in the next town?"

"Nothing much, Its just a checkpoint. Is that a pikachu?!"

huh? I look behind me to find that he's right, there's a pikachu following me. 'Hello', says the pikachu. I smile at it and return it's greeting. "Yea, I guess it is."

"It seems to like you."

"Yea, most pokemon do i guess. I'm just likable like that", I say while grinning. After a while the pikachu goes back in the surrounding grass to do what pikachus do, and we walk the rest of the way to Cyclone town in silence.
