Chapter 5

Kisses felt as if the whole ride home was just a blur. She couldn't stop thinking about what transpired that afternoon. She couldn't believe that THE Edward Barber, newcomer, actually wanted HER to be his girlfriend.

'Oh no. He's going to be our first boyfriend!' her mini angel said.

'You talk as if it's already decided,' her mini devil deadpanned to her angel.

'Why? You don't want him to be our boyfriend?' her angel accused.

'I do. I just want to pretend like Kisses has a choice out of respect for her,' her mini devil confessed.

Kisses frowned at the both of them, ‘Guys, I’m serious!’

‘We’re serious too! Look me in the eye and tell me honestly that you don’t like Edward Barber,’ her mini devil dared her.

Kisses looked away, ‘That's not the point!’

Her mini angel stepped up, ‘Okay, let's organizeour thoughts. Firstly, Edward is going to tell Marco about our feelings if we don’t agree to his plan.’

Kisses' eyes widened, ‘I’ve forgotten about that part of the deal!’

Her angel faced her devil, ‘And here you thought he was the ideal guy.’

Her devil smiled mischievously, ‘I knew he was the ideal guy the moment he threatened us to get his way. I love the bad boy type.’

Her angel just hung her head, ‘You’re incorrigible.’

The mini devil faced Kisses, ‘If we do agree to his plan, he’ll be constantly hovering around you.’

Kisses frowned, ‘So?’

Her devil rolled her eyes upward exasperatedly, ‘So it’ll help you move on from Marco when you’re constantly in the presence of a good looking guy!’

Her mini angel contradicted that logic, ‘What happens if Kisses falls in love with him instead?’

Her devil was stumped, ‘Um, wish for the best?’

Kisses just stared out the car's window, ‘You don’t have to worry about that. There couldn’t possibly a worse feeling than what my unrequited feelings for Marco has made me feel.’

Her Angel and Devil Kisses just looked at her with sadness.

Kisses spent the rest of the ride home thinking over Edward Barber’s once in a lifetime offer.

After a few minutes, Devil Kisses couldn’t stand the silence anymore, ‘So, how do we go about letting him know that we agreed to his demands?

We forgot to ask for his number.’

Angel Kisses just rolled her eyes, ‘Puhleez, we should at least act hard to get, he’ll assume that we really do have a crush on him and miss this once in a reincarnation opportunity!’

Kisses just huffed in exasperation.

Devil Kisses now had hearts in her eyes, ‘Let’s pretend that we’re going to ignore him, and then, at the last minute accept his offer reluctantly.’

Angel Kisses frowned, ‘That’s asking too much from Kisses, she wouldn’t be able to act suplada even if her life depended on it.’

Devil Kisses suddenly looked at Kisses, ‘Her life does depend on it!’

‘You’re both overreacting. What life?’ Kisses grumped.

‘Your lovelife,’ both chorused.

Kisses rolled her eyes, ‘I’m not ready to move on from Marco yet.’

‘Your parents just spent thousands for that Japan vacation just so you could stare at falling cherry blossoms and cry about a non-existent relationship with Marco, what else do we have to do for the sake of moving on?’ Devil Kisses grouched.
