Kisses felt as if the words were stuck in her throat. Of all the times to have seemingly lost her voice, it was now that Edward Barber was giving his undivided attention to what she had to say.

Edward raised a brow and exasperatedly sighed, "I thought you had something to tell me?"

Kisses opened her mouth, but still nothing came out.

'I have no idea where to start,' she inwardly cried.

Edward leaned back on his seat, crossed his leg over the other, and leaned his elbow on the arm of his chair. He gave her a once over, which made Kisses instantly blush.

"Since it doesn't look like you'll be saying anything soon, I'll be the one to start the conversation then," Edward declared.

Kisses hurriedly nodded.

Edward linked both his hands in front of him and leaned his chin on it, "So, terms and conditions of our deal?"

Kisses frowned, "But, I haven't said yes yet?"

Edward huffed exasperatedly again, "Okay, let's settle this once and for all. Kisses Delavin, do you or do you not agree to my kind offer of you having the privilege of being Edward Barber's girlfriend in exchange for my silence regarding your feelings towards one unsuspecting Marco Gallo?"

Kisses pouted, "When you put it that way, it sounds like I have no choice but to say yes."

Edward smirked, "I was under the impression you had already agreed to my offer the moment I told you about it."

Before Kisses even had time to argue with him, Edward continued, "Moving on."

Kisses just huffed and crossed her arms grumpily.

Edward cleared his throat, "So let's iron out the details of this deal, so both parties are well informed."

Kisses straightened up on her chair, "What details, specifically?"

"Lotsa details, such as what you're required to do as my girlfriend, what you should not do as my girlfriend, our boundaries with each other, and of course, getting our 'how we got together' story straight," Edward enumerated.

Kisses blushed, "Um, when you say requirements as a girlfriend, what exactly are you talking about?"

Edward shrugged offhandedly, "You know, the little things, watching football matches, watching football practice, going to school together, gossiping about our relationship to other girls, acting all possessive when there are other girls..."

Kisses breathed a sigh of relief and even let out a smile, "Oh, I can do that."

Edward narrowed his eyes suspiciously at her, "Why? What did you think was required of you?"

Kisses immediately reddened and squeaked out defensively, "Nothing!"

Edward shook his head in mock disappointment, "And here I thought it was the boy's mind that was always in the gutter."

Kisses reddened even more as she stuttered, "Th-that's not what I was th-thinking!"

Edward considered her again, "This might actually be too difficult to pull off for you."

Kisses calmed down a little, "What made you say that?"

"You're too transparent and your complete inability to lie MIGHT be a little speedbump to this pretending schtick that we have going on," Edward said sarcastically.

Kisses pouted again, "But how hard can it be to act like a loving girlfriend? You'll just have to tell me everything I have to do to make my act believable."
