high school relationships are weird

it's definitely not how it's portrayed in movies//tv shows, and most of the time it's all lies

sometimes there is a popular guy that is too scared to talk to the cute and sometimes awkward girl in his math class. the one that wears worn out band t-shirts and has bright red hair. or the super shy girl in his english class that sits in the corner away from the class, with the newest ya book basically stapled to her hands; scared that his friends will judge him

or it could be your typical cheerleader that walks the halls like a runway show with her friends aka sidekicks behind her,
hanging on to her every word,
wearing the latest trends,
and pointing to the girl who sits in front of her locker everyday during lunch;
because no one wants to get to know her
although no one knows that the cheerleader is secretly crushing on a guy in her ap chemistry class, that aces all of the test and answers all of the questions that the teacher asks in class;
because everyone thinks it's "too cool" to be smart

or the average jock that turns his head to stare at the friendly girl he passes by in the hallway everyday after third period,
who smiles at everyone,
making sure she brightens at least one person's day
no one knows that she cries herself to sleep at night due to her parents constant arguments and because her ex cheated on her with that cheerleader,
who's also now hooking up with the popular guy because she cares more about her reputation than the geek

and the girl that the popular guy liked in his english class is dating the geek because they can relate to each other,
and apparently they think it's easier to date someone in your own "species",
instead of not being afraid to branch out and date whoever the fuck they want
