"Father what do you mean I am arranged to marry the Prince of Bahraj, I don't even know him!?" argued Princess Levy as she followed her father down the stone corridors. "Exactly which is why we are going to meet him today!" exclaimed the King triumphantly. "But Fa-" before the small woman could continue her argument, she was interrupted as the King stopped abruptly so he was towering over her and she had to lean back a little so she wouldn't run into him. "This is for the political future so it must be done," stated Gildarts. "I'm not saying you have to love the man but this is important for the future of this country!" he finished firmly. The blunette just sighed as she understood that what he said was true. She looked down at the floor as she unwillingly gave in, "Fine. I will accompany you to the meeting, but this does NOT mean that I am willing to do this." She pushed past her father as she stubbornly marched to her chambers. The King chuckled at his daughters spirit, "Do not be so stubborn my dear, I am sure he is not as bad as you think."
Prince indeed!! I've heard about this prince that he is prideful and has no care in the world. He is NOT someone I fancy myself marrying! Levy angrily thought as she tossed different clothes from her wardrobe to her travel bag and stormed around her room. Even so, it is for this county so it must be done. But why HIM out of all the good princes of this world! He is so arrogant!! Levy's thoughts were interrupted as a knock came from the door and Lucy stuck her head in. "Princess what have you done to your room!" she exclaimed as she started picking up the messed up clothes and setting them in the dresser. "I can't believe it Lucy. I am forced to marry an stubborn man who has no care for a woman. I have to live with this monster!" Levy exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air exasperated and emphasizing her distress. "Come come now Princess, surely he is not as bad as you make it seem. Who knows, you might even fall in love with him," Lucy said winking and nudging Levy in the arm. The blunette huffed and turned away. "I find that highly impossible." While the two girls discussed the princess' future, the very subject of their conversation thought the same thing.
"I can not believe that you are forcing me to marry a small fry. A SHRIMP!? I've heard that the princess is nothing but fire.. stubborn woman," the black haired prince stated to his father. He definitely did not like the ideas of having to marry a woman who was basically half his height. "Then you must fight fire with fire and tame her!" stated the King triumphantly. Gajeel just rolled his eyes and continued his activities. The tall Prince was toned, his muscles were tight against his robes and his hair was an untaimed, long, black mess that stopped at his waist. He wore many piercings on his face and arms, as was custom for a young Prince in Bahraj. His clothes were mainly dark clothes and many people feared him because of his sharp red eyes. He stood at 6'1 and was only a little shorter than his father, King Metallicana. "Now Gajeel, you are blowing this out of proportion. This is for the sake of our country so it must be done. Besides, you haven't even met her yet so you can't judge her based on looks." The King said leaning against the bed post with his arms crossed over his chest.
The hell I can't, Gajeel mentally argued as he continued to pack his bags with various items. I hate this. Gajeel kept grumbling as a servant brought his things out to the wagon in the caravan. "Anything else your highness?" the tall black haired man said. His dark hair was cut quite raggedly and he rarely wore much clothing. "Yes, thank you Gray. Don't forget to fetch Lily," Gajeel reminded him. The servant, Gray, bowed and left the room.
Lily was a black panther that Gajeel hunted with frequently. Contrary to popular belief, the animal was quite tame and took fondly to the Prince. Lily was given to Gajeel when he was younger before Gajeel's mother died as a gift and was named Pantherlily. A moon shaped scar covered it's right eye from battles that they had fought together and white fur covered its muzzle. During many hunts, Lily had saved Gajeel's life and he was forever grateful.
The ride to the meeting place was long and tiring. Levy was bored easily but watched the scenery go by. They had both agreed to meet up in a small town called Mahji, which was between both the cities on a trade route. Levy just wanted to get this over with so she could head back home. She was in no mood to meet a complete stranger to whom she was going to marry. Levy, along with Lucy and her parents made their way into the small shop while the rest of the caravan settled into the village. She could see the Prince's caravan already in town and her frown only grew. I just want this to be over.
Everyone had sat down at a large table in a big room and were already discussing affairs of state. Levy looked around but no one struck out as the Prince. Sighing, she sat down next to Lucy and crossed her arms over her chest, huffing in boredom. Soon, a tall dark haired man sauntered into the room and sat next to the King. His deep crimson eyes locked onto Levy's hazel ones and they sort of stared at each other for a while, scoping out the other person. Levy's form did not falter and she fiercely returned his glare, knowing he was not on board with this arrangement either. He looked her up and down and scoffed at her appearance. Seriously, I am being forced to marry a flat chested pipsqueak?? Levy noticed his action and huffed her cheeks out as she stubbornly turned her head and tried to suppress her anger. How dare he! Who does he think he is?? Coming in here and acting like he's all high and mighty. I'll show him.
Levy felt a nudge on her arm as she looked to see Lucy motioning towards the King. The Princess was so caught up in her rant that she hadn't noticed the questions tossed at her. Clearing her throat and trying to hide her embarrassment she tried to respond as politely as she could, "I'm sorry can you repeat that?" "I asked you what kind of magic you possessed?" The Bahrajian King repeated calmly, softly gazing at her. "Oh, it's called solid script. I can write out words and then that element will appear! I can use it at my will," Levy responded brightly. She loved learning about the different kinds of magic from her tutor. "Gajeel was gifted with the Iron Dragon Slayer magic. He doesn't talk about it often," the King said elbowing Gajeel in the arm as the Prince rolled his eyes and nodded. "It's pretty rare and actually kind of dangerous," Gajeel stated proudly, locking eyes with Levy once again. What is it about those eyes? Levy thought as she couldn't bring herself to break the gaze. "Think I can't handle it hot-shot?" Levy retorted, smirking as the Prince flinched slightly. She is playing with fire this damned woman. He smirked but never looked away. "That settles it then," interrupted Levy's Father as he brought both of their attention back to the group, "Levy will leave to live with Gajeel for a time." Levy stared wide eyed at her father as Gajeel closed his eyes, preparing himself for the soon to come many months of torture. Kill me now...
