All Levy could think about that night was the ball. She didn't get much sleep that night because she was too excited. The day before the big celebration, the palace was busy with servants running around in chaotic preparation and tailors hurrying to finish the attire. It was a very busy day and Levy spent most of the day outside in the garden reading one of her favorite novels. Levy found it best to stay out of the way of everyone on big days like today. Her mind started to imagine what the night would be like.

I would wear a beautiful floor length gown and my hair would be in an elegant messy bun. The trumpets announce my entrance and I gracefully walk down the marble steps as I hold up on edge of my skirt and keep the other hand on the railing. Everyone stops to look at me and they are all at loss for words at how gorgeous the princess looks. I bow gently and the music starts up again as the dancing continues and everyone has a wonderful time. All the ladies look so beautiful and all the men look so handsome. A certain handsome fellow comes up to me. He is quite tall and very attractive. He bows and asks to dance and I blush when he kisses my hand. I shyly accept his request and he gently leads me to the dance floor. He is of a muscular build and his face is very defined. His hair is messy but tamed none the less. I look up and stare into his crimson red eyes and-

Levy gasped when she realized who she was daydreaming about. Why the hell am I thinking about Gajeel?! Most of the time Levy didn't tell anyone about her inner thoughts and feelings. Not even her closest companion Lucy. The small mage felt some heat on her cheeks and shook her head out of annoyance. Why do I always get embarrassed when I talk to Gajeel. Hell when I even think about him. Levy closed her book and took a deep breath trying to clear her head. She closed her eyes and listened to all the sounds around her. The birds chirped happily as faint voices of the servants could be heard through the stone palace walls. She smiled contently when she smelled all the wonderful scents coming from the kitchen. The wind blew gently across her face and made her shiver lightly. A shadow fell across Levy's face and furrowed her brows in confusion. She opened them and almost jumped back in surprise at the man standing very close in front of her.

"Gajeel why are you sneaking up on people?" the blunette crossed her arms and sighed at his disturbing of her peaceful moment. "Gihi you looked a little lost in your thoughts there Shrimp. What were ya thinking about?" he asked sitting down next to the already annoyed princess. She turned her head away and tried to hide her blazing cheeks. Yes Gajeel I was thinking about you because you have somewhere engraved yourself in my mind and can't get you out of my head. "It's Levy and just tonight. I'm a little excited about going to a huge party. Who usually comes to your balls?"

"Nobody really worth mentioning. Just some good friends of my father and other royalty in the area," answered the prince as he shrugged and crossed his arms lazily. Levy turned to him as she realized he was starting to fall asleep on the bench. Levy sighed as she tried to wake the now sleeping dragon slayer. At first she lightly poked his arm but nothing happened. Frowning, she decided to poke his cheek, but that didn't do much except stir him a little. The small princess huffed and decided to lightly shove his shoulders. A small grunt was heard and Levy felt a little victorious. "Wake up Gajeel, you can't fall asleep here. The big event is tonight and you can't be late for that." Feeling helpless, Levy decided to try and physically move the big beast. She tried pushing him and pulling him but nothing happened. Finally giving up Levy dropped next to the man and dramatically sprawled herself out on the bench as she tried to catch her breath. "Having fun Shrimp?" Gajeel asked smirking and opening his eye slightly. Levy jumped and stood up quickly, "You were awake this whole time?" Gajeel laughed lowly as he stood up and patted her head, "Yeah and that was pretty amusing. You might want to see a doctor because your face is really red." Levy gasped and covered her face with her hands and Gajeel walked off laughing and throwing a cocky smirk in the direction of the still stunned princess.

Levy huffed angrily as she marched back to her room so Lucy could help her get ready for the ball. How humiliating. I hate how he does things like that. Lucy helped the still irritated princess into a gorgeous royal blue sari and did her hair so it was held back with a silky headband. Little jewelry was worn and Levy didn't care about her appearance that often. Her handmaiden often scolded her for. wing so childish and not taking care of herself but the stubborn woman didn't listen.

All throughout the night, Levy had to greet all the couples that walked through the door and she had to keep a happy smile on her face even though her feet were throbbing. She was still angry at how the prince could tease her and embarrass her. She didn't like to be taken lightly and hated when people teased her for her height or the way she looked. She knew that most guys went for girls with bigger chests and she knew that she lacked that. Most of the time she felt insecure about they way she looked because she had a not-too-attractive birthmark at the base of her spine that she didn't want anyone to see and the only person that had was Lucy.

A older gentleman had come to ask the blunette to dance and frankly she didn't want to but she accepted anyway out of politeness. It was a slow waltz and the tall man was holding the princess too close for comfort. "I am Lord José your highness. I have a big property just North if here. If your interested, I could take you on a tour around the place?" Levy laughed nervously as she tried to put some space in between them. "I'm so sorry Lord José, but my schedule is much too full and I hate to refuse your proposal."

José's smile dropped and Levy thought that she saw some anger flash over his eyes. He smiled wickedly and didn't ease up on his already tight grasp on the mages waist. Levy winced a little as she felt panic start to arise. "So you have time for that idiotic prince but not for the greatest lord of the land who could give you anything you want?" Levy cringed a little when he whispered in her ear. She tried to move out of his grasp but she froze when he licked her ear. She could feel him smirk against her skin and she felt dizzy and nauseous. She felt some anger rise up within her at letting this perverted man do this to her and she was not about to be seen as weak.

The mage suddenly felt a burst of energy and managed to pry herself from the tall man's menacing grasp. She struggled a little but managed to free herself when she scratched the already angry mage on the arm. It was enough for him to let go of her arm but she didn't do much damage. She tried so hard to stop her shaking and bowed lightly and hastily. "I'm sorry but I am quite tired and would like to retire to my room now thank you." Not bothering to look back at the angry lord, she hurriedly made her way across the dance floor trying not to make a scene and looked for someone familiar. She noticed that Lucy was talking a salmon haired gentleman so she made her way towards where Gajeel and the King were. Trying not to seem like something was wrong she excused herself from their company using the excuse that she was tired from the long night and wished to go to her chambers. The all bid her goodnight as she quickly made her way up the stairs to where her room was. A good nights sleep will cure me up.

While she was slowly making her way down the hall she saw a shadow out of the corner of her eye. Levy turned to look but didn't see anything so she kept walking when she felt an icy hand grasp her wrist. Before she could turn around to see who her attacker was, Levy's arms were pinned against her back and she was thrown against the wall. She yelped in pain and was about to scream when a damp cloth was put over her mouth and she could feel her conscience slipping from her mind. Chloroform!

Gajeel felt a strange feeling in his stomach but he just thought that he was tired. He continued to dance with the big circle of people on the dance floor and for some reason couldn't get the small blunette out of his head. He though that it was odd how she had gone to bed early and he swore she looked frightened but he didn't think much of it. The night continued on and everyone danced the whole evening with much laughter and joy as no one realized that the visiting princess was being taken far away..
