Save Me From The Darkness

Chapter 2

"Ocean what happened?" He asked while cupping my face.

"I had my music on too loud so I didn't hear when mum yelled that it was time to eat, it was an accident, but then dad came up here. I tried explaining but he yelled at me about how I don't love them and appreciate all that their giving me. That's when he hit me, and I made the stupid mistake of trying to get out of his grasp. That caused him to take me by the hair and hit me with the other hand."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"There's nothing you can do Josh! I have to keep this hidden" I pleaded.

"Fine, but if you ever need help or seriously get hurt, you know where to fine me, " he said, offering me a weak smile.

"Yeah I know, " I said before
re-applying the concealer.

"Come on, lets go so you're not late again, " Josh said before leaving my room.

Me being on time for school was a once in a lifetime thing. No matter how early I left the force of the universe thought it would be fun to have me be late for school. To make matters worse, I had math first period. If there's one thing you should know about my math teacher Ms. Dodds(A/N *wink wink*)it's that she's almost as mean as my mother. She doesn't abuse me but she's definitely not the forgiving type.

Slipping on my Chuck Taylors, I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs. I quickly snatched a Pop-Tart off the counter without being seen, before jogging out the door to get in the car. Closing the door behind me, I glanced at the clock. 8:10? There was five minutes before first session and it took about five minutes to actually get to school. If I were to make it to school on time, I'd make it to first session with absolutely no time to spare.

"Try not to get into too much trouble," Josh warned me.

"What do you mean trouble?" I shot back.

"Really Ocean? You're known for getting in trouble because you mouth off and are disrespectful. Try to make an effort considering that you're coming back from a suspension. Please, can you do that for me?"

"No promises, " I smirked. With a sigh, Josh pulled up to school.

Hauling my backpack onto one shoulder I jogged into school, and looking at my watch i saw that it was 8:16. I was just one minute late. Running down the hallway, I eventually made it to the math room. Opening the door. I felt the eyes of my classmates staring at me, it didn't really bother me though since this has been my daily routine for a whole week now. Walking to the back of the classroom I sat at my usual seat across the aisle from my friend Lizzie and propped my feet up on the desk. Grabbing her notebook I began scribbling down Notes from the days I had missed. I was working on it when Mr. Dodds interrupted me.

"Miss Woods, how nice of you to grace us with your presence, " she said.

"Glad to be back, " I said before smiling sarcastically.
