Chapter 3

"Miss Woods if I were you, I'd remove my feet from the furniture before you get another referral." Pushing my feet off the desk, she walks back to the front of the room.

I rolled my eyes before looking over at Lizzie, "What action have I missed?"

"New transfer kid today," she said.

"What?! From where?"

"America."

"What? What idiot would move here" I live in a small town in London, so we don't get a lot of new kids in general let alone transfer kids. In my opinion staying in America would be way better than coming here.

"I have no idea who he is. But apparently Sara does." Sara was the third musketeer in Lizzie and I's little group of friends. The three of us were inseparable. Out of the three of us, I was by far the worst though. I was the only one of us to ever get a suspension. Sara and Lizzie have gotten their fair share of referrals and detentions but never a suspension.

"What does Sara have to do with this?" I asked.

"Apparently new kid is like her second cousin or something. All I know is that until his parents can move here he has to stay here in London. His parents should be coming not too long after him though, something about settling papers and things."

"He? New kid is a boy?"

"Oh, now I sparked your interest huh Ocean?"

"No, I just expected it to be a girl. It's gonna be really hard to fit in here then, Cole isn't gonna let him hear the end of it." Cole was the head jock at our school and he was a total jerk. He used to date the head cheerleader Chrissy Prescott but apparently they broke up not too long ago. According to Lizzie and Sara, Cole has his eye on me for a while. When I found that out, I was utterly disgusted, Cole never treats girls right and he's just a terrible excuse of a human.

"He doesn't have to hang out with Cole when there's us."

"But we're girls."

"Come on Rory, we hang out with guys all the time. Justin, Max? They're boys."

"I guess but the don't expect me to make friends with this kid."

"I never said you had to, at least be nice please. Sara said that he can be really shy and I don't want to make this worse for him." Even though Lizzie hung out with Sara and I, she was the sensitive one of the group. Sure she could get herself in a lot of trouble but when needed she can be sweet. That rarely ever happened with me.

"Miss Woods is there something you'd like to share with the class?" Ms. Dodds asked, shooting me a sharp glare.

"Not the slightest, " I muttered under my breath.

"Sara said that we have next class with him," Lizzie whispered to me before going back to taking notes.

I had gym next with Sara and Lizzie that I was looking forward to; it was just this new kid though. I had no idea what he was like, or what he looked like. Was it weird that I was actually somewhat nervous about meeting him?

"It's nothing," I thought to my self before shrugging it off.
