How To Train Your Dragon

Chapter 7

     -2 WEEKS LATER-

     I see a cliff with a cave at the bottom and I signal to Sap pointing to the cave, to rest just wanting to sleep and let her rest to. As Sap lands I say "You need rest more than I do I'm going to have a look around.", I pat her head and walk out listening and looking for something to use as a weapon and also to look for danger.

     On my way back I hear a twig snap automatically jumping behind a bush to hide. I hear muffled voices and I become extremely still not wanting to move a branch, I see a large man in a mask and a smaller man with what looks like war paint on his face and arms. Suddenly the smaller of the two yells out "DOES IT LOOK LIKE I CARE?!? I WANT A NIGHT FURY! I WANT ONE NOW!!" he swings his arms around with an axe in one hand causing the larger man to recoil so he doesn't get hit with it, "I know Dagger, sir, I know you want one. . . er. . . they all seem to be extinct though. . . except-" he is interrupted by the one called Dagger speaking in a snarl "Except the one Hiccup has!!" While the conversation went on I was slowly backing away focusing on their conversation but not on my steps, I brush into a bush then I recoil stepping on a stick then I freeze. I listen out and hear Dagger say "Over there! Get your crossbow ready!" I decide to make a run for it when arrows start whizzing past my head I turn left, left, sharp right, left, right, straight forward all the time hearing them running after me. I run into a clearing and don't register it until I hear Dagger yell out "STOP HER!!" I see a bunch of men as tall or almost as tall as the one with Dagger surround me in a large circle. I skid to a stop, loudly swearing after I look around not seeing a way out. Dagger comes out laughing "Wow! I have never seen a girl with such a mouth on her!" I give an involuntary hiss like a Night Fury, feeling something rise up in me making me feel like killing him and I take a deep breath calming myself and the feeling disappeared. I focus on Dagger as he speaks "Well, well, well. . . what type of dragon do you have?" I blink at him not answering, he spoke again "Tell me or I will beat it out of you!" I smirk and say in a lazy voice "You can only try." He looks mad and readies his axe. I wait for him to run at me an when he does come running I wait till the last second before dodging grabbing the hilt of the axe pulling it and kneeing him in his stomach. I weigh his axe in my hand then letting out a low Night Fury roar I run at one of the men sliding between his legs.
     I keep running until I reach the cave the men chasing me with Dagger in the lead, I run into the cave entrance and I see Sap. I jump onto her back as Dagger enters the cave, she sends a plasma blast his way and he jumps aside. We fly out and I ask her casually as we dodge arrows being shot at us, "So. . . How was your sleep? Did you like the surprise I brought back?" she snorts and hits me with one her ear plates when we are out of range of arrows "One, my sleep was ok. Two, yes I liked your surprise a little action was needed but next time could you bring something less arrow loaded?" I start laughing "No promises. I did get a pretty cool axe though!" I lean forward to show her and she nods. As we fly I look around laying back on my saddle slowly falling asleep. 

-1 HOUR LATER-

     Sap jerks her shoulder waking me up, "What's wrong girl?" she looks at a spot behind me and I turn to see the black shape of a Night Fury and hear the unmistakable roar of a Night Fury. "Is it those people that locked me up making me easy bait for Griffen and Hal?" when she nodded I groaned irritated looking back again to see them closer, "Can't you recognize their scent?" Sap asks me and I look at her "No. How am I supposed to do that?" Sap hums in thought then speaks, "Well, you could try breathing in deep and focus on what you smell.". I try it and I do recognize the smell but I also smell more dragons and riders, "Their are more than just the Night Fury and his rider! We need to go faster! They are catching up quickly!" Sap smirked in her dragony way and I hold on tighter to the grip as she speeds up. I turn around once more to see all the riders in sight but the Night Fury and his rider are noticeably closer to us than the others and still getting closer, "Land Sap! I have and idea. . . If I overpower him and run faster we can leave but you need to keep his dragon away from me long enough to get away!" She nods going faster. After what feels close to hours that is really only around fifteen minutes we land. The two Night Fury's along with their riders are away from the other riders and dragons. Sap and I land, hiding, under a canopy of Pines waiting for him and his dragon to follow. 

     I see them pass over watching through the needles of the Pine, Sap and I are hiding under. I hear the Night Fury roar an I crouch closer to Sap, and I feel her wrap her tail around me protectively. "You ready girl?" I ask quietly and she nods when I look at her. I grab my new axe out of a saddlebag then run with Sap to a clearing. I roar knowing they will hear and come but I didn't want Sap to do it because the other Night Fury is slightly bigger, I also want her to save her strength and breath. Not much later the rider and his dragon land in front of us so I smile, "You're persistent, Rider.", he looks at me then says"Why thank you.". "I don't like it please leave."I say and he replies"I'm sorry all I want is answers.".I toss my axe up and catch it then reply, "No answers here, sorry." His eyes fix on my axe "You work for him? That's why you won't give us any answers?", I look at my axe "You mean that war painted guy wanting a Night Fury?". The rider nodded and I burst out laughing, he looked confused so I said "No I don't work for him. I took the axe from in him in a fight. Th-" I stop speaking and I smell the air. I look at Sap and I can tell she smelt the other Riders too. "Nice to talk but I got to go your friends are coming and will be here soon." I jump on Sap's back only to get picked up off by Monstrous Nightmare's taloned feet, I look down and yell "SAPPHIRE! NO!" Sap was being held with a struggle by the rest of the Rider's dragons except for the Night Fury and his rider, and the Monstrous Nightmare and its rider. I roar to Sap and she roars back in anguish so I knew there was no hope in getting out especially when rider that has the Nightmare took my axe. The last thing I see before I get knocked out is Sap in ropes and the other dragons, except the Night Fury who is looking displeased while his rider isn't looking at all, lifting her up like she is dangerous which she can be.
