Lights Out

I draw my blade and prepare for combat.

"Easy buddy," Luke explains, "hear me out. You're being lied to. Nathan is not someone you can-"

"Ah shut your trap!" I exclaim, "Nathan has done nothing but help me! I have nothing to say to you."

"Then let's get to the point," Luke sighs.

Luke lunges at me. I prepare to avoid his attack, but just before he strikes the whole world goes bright I cannot see a thing. My vision returns when I feel a sharp pain in my chest. I'm bleeding. Luke smirks at me he's gotten enough distance to where I can't lunge from here.

I feel something. An odd energy flowing through me. It fills me with power, but it appears that some sort of cost. I can feel my emotions, my very being fading away. I have another flashback to the other side.

I see the smiling man from the photo once more. He simply hands me a journal. I read the journal. It contains many notes, infinite knowledge. However, he points out one in particular.

The passage reads, "if the failsafe ending is to fail, then these timeline is doomed. Under the circumstances, there is only one solution. As many beings as can be saved must be killed and their souls gathered. The weaker the being the less likely it is they can be saved. Another note that this whole thing is to occur, is that gen shall be erased. This is what seals the timelines fate. It will fall to Edgar to save the timeline. However, Edgar's soul be damaged. By his 25th death, Edgar will no longer be Edgar. At this point, his soul will be forged  into a new being. However, the darkness that lies in Edgar will linger, dormant. This new being will be able to tap into that power. However, tapping into this power will remove his emotions temporarily. The being be consumed by the very addiction that created Edgar. A a sword forged from gen's soul will be given to this new being. The sword will be designed to adapt to his opponent. After he defeats six beings the sword will be set in stone; its abilities will not change. Most importantly, although it is unknown which, there is a being who will attempt to destroy the timeline. This being will do anything to prevent the survivors from achieving canon.  Above all else, Nathan is the most trustworthy. He is my closest friend in this world, and he would never betray me. New being, it is very likely you will have a flashback to this moment. No matter what happens, no matter what anyone says, Nathan is the only one you can trust. However, even he may not be trustworthy. If Nathan is the one attempting to destroy the timeline, then you're in some serious shit. I'm not kidding, your timeline may be screwed if this occurs. However, there's no way in hell that's going to happen. My advice, trust Nathan. Unless, you hear the song. The song is more trustworthy than anything of your world. As it is sung by benevolent being from elsewhere. Failure to comply to the song can result in death. I know not what will happen, but know that you can still save your world or at least, some of it. Good luck, and may the pen guide you."

The smiling man drops dead. My flashback ends.

I decide to continue to trust Nathan. However, I must keep an arrow out for the song. The two do not seem to contradict eachother, so why not both? However, I will have to think on this further at a later time. For now, I have to kill Luke.

He lunges once more, but I devised a plan. As he lunges, and my vision goes white, I swing my blade creating a shroud of darkness. The light in the darkness counteract each other, catching Luke off guard. While his guard is down, I stab Luke, he falls, unable to continue. Man, that venom is some powerful stuff.

"Damn," he mumbles, "I'm sorry. Solaire,  he cannot reach Festo. You have to stop him, no matter what. It would appear, he is beyond saving. You will have to do more than kill him, you will have to erase him. May the pen guide you."

Luke drops dead. Wow, this is just how it's gonna be isn't it? So what can this magic sword do now? I swing it. It's still leaves the shroud, but the blade itself glows with a devine power. Man, this thing just gets more badass with each one I kill. Well, better call Nathan.

"Nathan!" I yell.
