Remorseless Sinner

I enter the palace. Nathan smiles at me.

"Ah," he greets, "hello. So, there's one more left, and when they fall, the world shall be saved."

"Drop the act," I reply, "I know the truth. I know we're in a noncanon timeline with an ending that wasn't meant to happen. I know you erased everyone and framed me, using the fact I was gathering souls to make them canon. Why'd you do it Nathan? I thought we were friends."

"Gen3king was my friend," Nathan explains, "we were never friends. You may not fully be Edgar anymore, but when he was gathering souls, he did so to extend the story. Edgar is dangerous, you are dangerous. Before he became you, he gave his notes to the entity of good, Good. Hence the song. Then you were fully formed. That photograph was taken during The Hunt, and is of you and gen or, Edgar and gen. I think I'll call you Ed. Anyways, I take no hit in my sins, the souls I've destroyed, but I do it all for the good of the canonverse. Gen and Edgar keep eachother in chevk, but you could break that fragile balance. It's you and the six others, and me of course, or everyone who's canon getting screwed over by your Tom fuckery. I think the right choice is pretty clear. When I slay you, there won't be enough characters to support a story and this world will collapse. However, this is still The Story on the Board, so I must consult the readers. Readers, make your decision... they choose inaction, thus defaulting to the 'worse' choice. Your last target was you, and now, I shall finish my crusade. Prepare to die!"

Nathan attacks with holy magic. I dodge.

It all makes sense now. He still views me like Edgar. A being who writes for power. It appears he can't be reasoned with. He must die.

"Do you know why I'm the good guy?" Nathan asks, "cause I have remorese. As I said, I never enjoyed my work, but did it for the greater good. You, you did it cause you could. Cause you wmated answers. You never hesitated. You never questioned. You are a remorseless sinner, and you shall be destroyed!"

He attacks once more. I avoid his attack.

I hear the song again. This time, I can hear it clearly. The singers say, "you must listen to us Ed. This is your last chance. You must flee your world, to defeat Nathan."

Flee my world? Wait, that's right! This world is just a small part of a larger series! There must be someone, anyone, who can help! I flee towards the edge of the miniverse. Nathan gives chase, blasting me with a barrage of holy and unholy bolts of magic. I narrowly avoid each strike and eventually reach the void.

"I'll take it from here," a man with silver hair and hazel eyes smiles. He holds a crimson baseball bat in his hands. "Who are you?" I ask.

"Name's Uncannoned," the man smiles, "and this is my book now..."
