My eyes fluttered open as I looked over to the bright window. I forgot I was staying above the lake, so there was sunshine. I groaned as I got up and put on a t-shirt and long pants. I quietly walked downstairs to see Hermione sitting on the couch.
"Mione?" I said as I walked over to her.
"Ohh, morning Nova," she yawned as she rubbed her eyes. She was holding a book like always.
"Did you stay up all night?" I asked as I noticed circles under her eyes.
"Yeah," she was holding Hogwarts, a History. How many times does this girl read that book?
"You reading again?" I asked.
"Yeah, I need to see if there's anything in here about the chamber," she sighed.
I sighed and looked up back to the room. Remembering how she treated Liza last night I sat next to Hermione and read over her shoulder.
"'Mione?" I muttered.
"What?" She said softly.
"Why don't you like Liza?"
"S-She's just, different. I don't seem to trust that it's her first year and the Chamber opens."
"Well, it's not her fault that this happened, 'Mione. I'm constantly around her, she doesn't have any time to do it."
"She's not evil-"
"But don't you also find it strange that she knows exactly what you're thinking sometimes like she's a-"
"She's a good judge of character," I said softly.
"And so am I, she could be the heir of Slytherin, she is in it-"
"And so am I, what is that supposed to mean?"
"Mostly all Slytherins are bad," she snapped, "and who knows, maybe Liza is behind it all, maybe it's the both of you."
"Hermione!" I said as a tear developed in my eyes.
"I'm just saying, you don't seem to help, you haven't been reading to find out to help-"
"Mione, don't you see how delusional you sound? You need to go get some sleep!"
"You don't care, you don't want to help us! You're just there, more useless then Ron when it comes to potions!"
"Is that what you really think?" I bit my lip.
I heard a cough behind me I turned to see Harry. As the tear fell I turned, "tell Liza I will be in the Slytherin common room if she needs me," I said before I walked out the door. I sat on the couch and tried to keep my composure.
"Where are those twits?" Draco's voice boomed as he entered the common room.
I sat there as the tear fell out. I sniffled, Draco noticed and walked over to me."Are you okay, Nova," he said as he sat in front of me.
"I-It's nothing," I cried in my hands. I could tell this was awkward for him. Just a girl crying. That makes almost anyone who's not great with their emotions awkward.
"Who did this?" He asked, "who made you cry? Was it your boyfriend?"
I shook my head.
