My hand shakes as I review my notes, gulping my coffee down I notice something.

"Wait. Is that... No way!" I excitedly exclaim.
"Gaining headway?" Lily asks.
"Hi Lily." I greet, smiling as she hands me a hot Cinnabon.

"Peters been butting his head against the wall with this one." She says.
"No way! Peters always one step ahead!" I exclaim.

"Not this time." She murmurs.
"Did they call you back yet?" I quietly ask.
"Yes." She whispers. Oh Lily. It really isn't her fault that she failed one of those tasks - she wasn't even feeling well that day!

"And?" I prompt.
"They're willing to let me retake the piloting course today."

I excitedly squeal, grabbing her by her shoulders. "I'm so proud of you Lily. You deserve this!"
"Thank you." She whispers.

"For what? This was all you Lily! I'm so happy for you! Did you tell Peter yet?" I excitedly question.
"Sarah. I know that you spoke to Captain Jonathan. Thank you. And I'm planning on telling Peter tonight."

"He would've given you a chance anyway. Don't worry though, the house is yours for the night." I wink, the blush that forms informs me of her intentions.

"Anyway, I should go before I get into trouble with my manager. Good luck on the case Sarah." She whispers pulling me in for another hug. "Oh, and Sarah? Give the guy a chance. He's been staring at you the whole time."

My eyes furrow in confusion as she skips off. Finally I understand as I take in the brooding male not too far away.

A soft smile graces my lips as I pack all of my notes away. Gathering my items I throw them into my backpack.

An idea comes to mind, so before I lose my confidence I sling my backpack over my shoulders, pick up my coffee and Cinnabon and walk over to him.

"Nathan." I greet, "May I?"
"Sure."
"So... How's your hand?" I ask in order to keep the conversation.
"Fine."

"Oh. Well - " I stutter, shocked at his bluntness, " - That's good."
He stares at me, unblinkingly. "Is there anything else?"
"N-no." I shake my head.
"Then leave."

"What the - "
"What do you want?" He blankly ask, his eyes blazing in anger.
"I-I don't understand."
"What. Do. You. Want."

"I'm sorry but did I do something wrong?" I ask in genuine confusion.
"Don't act so innocent." He harshly says.
"Nathan..."

"Nate! My name is Nate." He glares at me.
"N-Nate, I honestly don't know what I've done to offend you..."

His jaw angrily clenches, "Please." He scoffs, "I'm not in the mood. You know that I want you. That I will eventually have you. So stop playing hard to get."

"I... I'm not playing hard to get."
"Really?"
"Yes Nathan - Nate."
"And last night?" He cooly regards me, patiently awaiting my answer.

"Last night..." I ask in confusion, my eyes widen as I finally realize what he was referring to. "Last night I was busy. With work. I never meant to react the way I did. It's just that - "

" - Save it!" He snaps. Without granting me a chance to speak he stands up, "We're done here."

I sit shell shocked before realizing that he's gone. "What the - " my heart anxiously hammers against my chest.
