Two Princes & One Throne

Chapter 3

3 Person POV: 

 "The day of the torment has come. It is a fine day, the sun is bright and warm. There is a cool breeze and everyone is excited for the Myers brothers to start battling," blared the kings man.

 Xavier and Alexander were both dressed in full armor and their servants were making last minutes preparations. In ten minutes they would begin the match and prove their worth to the throne.

 They could see their parents on the grandstand along with Helena and Anne, there younger sisters. The king's men blew the horn and the brothers began the match. Xavier is swift and better swordsman then Alexander and the crowd could see that. They were all watching with anticipated breath.

  The crowed cheered and applauded when Alexander advanced on his brother Xavier. They were going hard on each other and none of them would back down. As Xavier was about to overthrow his brother, Xavier's left foot slipped into the pothole in the dirt ground and lost balance. 

Alexander swiftly threw the sword out of Xavier's hand and had him at swords point. The battle was over and Alexander was declared the winner. 

Xavier POV: 

I was angry at myself and was in pain from my swollen ankle. The doctor has prescribed me with some herbs and bed rest for a week. my foot was tightly bandaged and was leveled up on two pillows.

Helena and Anne barged into my room and sat on my bed. Helena looked more like me while Anne like Alexander. They are both very dear to me and I would do anything to protect them both.

"Xavier, we believe in you, you don't have to have the throne to rule the kingdom, you and Alexander can both pitch in good ideas to make our kingdom better," Helena explained. Anne immediately interrupted her saying, "But Alexander has to think about the main ideas and laws before planting them though the kingdom because he won the tournament and father has given him the the throne."

I quickly jolted up saying, "That should've been me. I should of won the tournament and father should have given me the throne. But that stupid pothole stopped me from winning." Helena and Anne both gave me  a weak smile like an apology before heading out of my room.  

Alexanders POV: 

 I was on my desk writing plans down on how to keep the kingdom safe and sound. my two little sister entered my room and they sat on the edge of my bed waiting for my attention.

 I gave them my full  attention and started speaking, "Hello ladies what brings you here?" Then Anne started to say that they are both proud that I won and I really show empathy and responsibility towards my work.

Two maids softly knocked on the door, and said that the King and Queen wanted to speak with only Helena.

 Helena quickly went over to the maid's side and started walking with them. Helena was suspicious of what had to come out of her parent's mouth but also really excited.

 Helena's POV" 

As Helena entered her parent's room, her mother embraced her warmly, and said, "come here my darling girl, we need to discuss important issues." 

 Her father was smiling at both his wife and daughter, "Come sit beside me you two" said the king. Helena sat and her father held her hand softly.

"Helena my princess, I want to let you know that your mother and I approve of your marriage to Prince Philip of Sandia Canyon Islands. He is a charming lad and he is respectful and responsible. He has proven his worth and you have made a great choice my darling" beamed James the king. "Oh thank you father" squealed Helena. 

My family members  and I were sitting around the breakfast table, just talking and enjoying the food when I  suddenly announced that I was engaged to Prince Philip. Anne  smiled and gave me the, I am happy for you look. 

I gave her my sweet smile in return. Everybody around me clapped with great smiles on their faces. "I am really overjoyed to hear that" said Alexander. 

Xavier sat up straighter and said, "Are you sure Helena that you want to marry him?." I slightly nodded, then giggled at his comment.

 Xavier gave me a warm smile but laced with concern. 

Sarah, my mother said that Prince Philip will come to have dinner with us all.

 Helena and Anne looked at each other, when Anne interrupted and said, " Also to talk about the wedding too!." " Yes of course that too!" said the Queen.
