TAEHYUNG'S POV

Everything was going just as planned . . .

"It's about time someone put a stop to you." She had softly whispered into my ear, as if not wanting to disrupt the beautiful scene.

I felt a sense of dizziness thinking of what had happened hours before, which seemed so long ago. However, I could still feel Amber squirming in my grip, her pulse slowing as the wooden leg cut deep into her skin. It felt like ripping off a bandage. Painful at first but once it was off, there was nothing to worry about. Amber was tough to control, but even she had her limits. Once I took advantage of her weaknesses, she was mine to keep. Groans left her chapped lips, she had no last words, as if she had given up. It was such a blur, I can faintly hear her pleads for mercy, which had failed to stop me. But really, when will I ever quit my tasks to save a life? Society, as I always thought of it, was meant to be a dog eat dog world. If you want something, you get it, whether it means hurting a fly or a taking a life. After living up to this saying for half of my life, I found yourself growing used to the murderous ways.. but hey, at least I got what I wanted right? After all, there's no going back once you've hit rock bottom.

My eyes scanned the patient room I was dwelling in and halted at the sight of her. Silly girl, I thought as I propped myself up and against the tense hospital pillow, amused by the presence. There she was, an almost exact replica of Alice, whose name made my mouth run dry. I examined her for a few seconds, feeling a pang of sympathy looking at her trembling body. I had never forgotten the one day where I was watching her sleep, the day I realized that she was a sleeping beauty. I felt lost looking at her, my mind blanked out before I could think of what to do. I edged off the bed, pulling the thin blanket provided by the nurses with me. I made sure not to make any sound that could disturb her, I didn't want to startle my sweet, angelic guest. As I tiptoed closer to the resting girl, I caught myself looking at her with my mouth gaped, once again. But this time, I realized that it wasn't her well proportioned visuals that took my breath away. It was the fact that she was unbothered and content. How is it that she looked so at ease, knowing that she's in the same room as a murderer? She seemed to be well asleep with no worries at all. Her breathing pattern and everything was normal, it was only her shivering that passed as irregular. How did she fall asleep so easily, after seeing such sights? Does she trust me? I didn't know whether or not I liked the fact that she seemed so comfortable in my company. I had gotten used to the uneasy atmosphere that I carried, it made me feel unstoppable. Everywhere I went, eyes followed, but not in a good way. Maybe people thought I looked like a homeless and stared for that reason, but at least they didn't know of my captivating hobby. It has been a long while since anyone looked peaceful with me around, let alone a female. I made a mental note to myself- this girl, you have to look out for. She's definitely not like the others. Once I was inches away from her, I could see the scratches scattered on her face from chasing Amber and I through the forest. This girl, I mumbled, careful to keep my voice down. I placed the blanket on her trembling body, making sure to cover any exposed skin. I then made retraced my steps, turning around to check up on Annabelle every few steps. Once back on the hospital bed, I longingly stared at my sleeping beauty.

Soon, you'll be ready. Thank you for your sacrifice, my darling.

+ author's note: this wasn't the best chapter, i'm sorry!
