I visited Macy the next day, I hoped and prayed she was still alive this morning, that asshole, Ben, did a huge damage on her abdomen, thank the skies that vase had water inside, I don't know what else I would have done, hot tears threatened to fall,

'She could've died if it weren't for the neighbors,'

The neighbors heard my struggles before Macy got hit, on a fit of anger I hit the dashboard of the car, my mother and father looked over at me with concern, they came straight away once they heard the news that night,

"Don't worry honey, we'll catch that man that broke in."

That's right, I told them a man broke in, well its technically true, but that's no man, no human in fact, I don't know what it is except the fact that it's otherworldly. My father stopped the car and sat there, as well as my mother, just as I was about to climb out of the car my mother stopped me,

"Emily hun, I know you're upset, if there is anything you need to tell us, tell us now, you know we are here for you. Always, we know something is bothering you, if it has to do with that man, the say it, we'll pull through this together."

well fuck.

I now know that they're suspicious, if I ever told them what was happening, they would surely call the therapist and say it was a result from the trauma. I really didn't want to see a therapist.

"Well, I'm just worried about Macy, I'm not really really thinking of..him..he doesn't deserve my thoughts."

By mentioning him, my words dropped with venom, he hurt my sister, she could've died. Unless she's already in the hospital, no, shes not dead, they would have called us right away if something happened.
I climbed out of the car, closed the door, and made my way quickly to the hospital, once inside, bright lights made me squint for a few seconds, I rushed over to the nurses desk,

"Macy Carson's room?"

My heart was racing at this point, something told me to get there before my parents did, I saw them come through the front lobby,

"Room 298, level three, take the elevator to the right and left from there."

I gave a quick thanks and ushered myself to the elevator and pressed the number three button, but before the doors could close a hand shot out to stop it, it startled me, the door opened for the person, from what I could see, it was a male, around the age of twenty, half of his face was covered with a gray scarf,

'But its spring, maybe spring allergies?'

He wore a gray sweater too, with black jeans, he looked over at me, and motioned to the elevator buttons, something about this guy put me on edge, I stepped aside to let him choose a level, I noticed it was completely silent, my posture went stiff, he chose level four,

"So, who are you seeing?"

He tried to strike up a conversation, what was his business of me seeing who? Why not talk about the weather? Or politics? Screw that, im not much of a political person,

"Family member, may I ask, who are you seeing?"

He chuckled slightly before answering, it was a very short answer,

"A friend"

Level one,

"May I ask, what happened to your family member?"

Oh, getting personal I see, I don't like this, I'll just keep my answers short and sweet,

"Break in, got shot"
