"Come on Ally lets go!" Conners voice filtered through from the other side of the door.
I quickly grabbed my jacket and opened my door, "Dude, I'm only like, a minute late. Chill. And could you please be quiet? Someone could hear us."
Conner rolled his eyes and looked me up and down, clearly not embarrassed that he's openly checking me out.
I snapped in his face, "Eyes up here."
He shrugged and smirked at me, "You know you like it."
Now it was my turn to roll my eyes, "In your dreams. Where are we going again?"
He grabbed my hand and we quickly made our way downstairs, "You'll see. Can you please tell me again why we have to be so shady about going out? 'Because I said so' is not a legitimate answer."
I sighed and looked around, the cost was clear except the dining room light, which had been left on. "Short story, there's a guy and he doesn't want me going out, so I'm showing him that what he says doesn't matter. There, you happy?"
He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, "I will find out the real reason but I guess that will do."
Suddenly the dining room light came on with a audible 'click' and footsteps echoed off the wood floor heading towards the stair case. Conner ushered me to the corner of the living room, which ironically enough had a large plant situated in it. He pushed it forward slightly with no effort and managed to get both of our body's behind it.
His hands found their way around my waist, as if he was hugging me from behind, and he lowered his mouth to my ear, "Shhh." His warm breath allowed for goosebumps to spread down my arms.
The footsteps got closer until suddenly, they stopped. Whoever it was lingered for a second more before ascending the stairs.
We waited until the footsteps ceased and we were sure the coast was clear before he stepped away and held out his hand, my body was instantly craving his warmth once again, but I was grateful that he offered me his hand. Taking it, he led us out the back door and to his.. truck?
I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw what was before me, "A truck? You got to be kidding me, I pegged you for more of a sports car sort of guy."
He laughed, "Well then you stand corrected." He opened my door and helped me in.
Walking around, he got in himself and started the vehicle, slowly backing out of the designated space he was in.
I suddenly looked at him and frowned, "I thought you had mention a few other friends?"
He looked at me then back at the road, "Didn't your parents ever teach you not to distract the driver?"
"Didn't your parents ever teach you to keep your eyes on the road," I countered.
"Touché," he smiled, "but to answer your question, yes there are other friends and you will be able to meet them once we get to our destination."
A calm silence passed over us then and I took the time to study Conner. He was certainly attractive, with dark chocolate brown hair and forest green eyes. I'm surprised he hadn't found his mate yet, whoever she was though was certainly lucky.
"You should take a picture, it lasts longer." He turned his head and looked at me with a small smirk on his face.
"Will do," I smiled and pretended to take a picture with my hands, "Thanks."
He winked at me, "No problem."
"Have you not found your mate yet Conner?"
"I have found her... but she thought we weren't supposed to be together. The next day I saw her she had mated with her Alpha." He weakly smiled, "But if it wasn't for that happening I wouldn't of met you."
