It's been nearly two years since I updated, so I think I owe a huge explanation. I promised a sequel to Need to Know, but when the show came back for season 5 I was at camp, but when I watched the episodes I found myself a little disappointed with the show and the plot. I tried to come up with ideas to write about, but struggled. When school started up again, I felt defeated. My grades slipped, my mental health worsened, and I felt no desire to write. I let comments and messages about the sequel pile up, too embarrassed and scared to respond and disappoint everyone who had enjoyed my story with news of a discontinuation.
Also, I felt ashamed and regretful when I looked back at Need to Know. Honestly speaking, the plot is cheesy and not very well thought-through. There are spelling and grammar mistakes, but I really poured my heart and soul into the story, and I tried as hard as I could to craft it back when I wrote it. Yet I was young and thirteen when I started this story, so three years later, I can see the degree that my writing has improved, and I couldn't believe that something I could no longer consider high-caliber work was so well-loved and continued receiving reads.
We have hit over 100,000 now, and that's such an incredible feat. I never said anything when we first hit this milestone a few months ago, but I gave myself a deadline. By the new year, I needed to choose whether or not I would write a sequel to Need to Know. Reading hate comments (of which there are plenty) discouraged me at first, but they became my motivation.
I will show you all my improvement. I'll show you right now. I plan to go back and make substantial edits to Need to Know, but before that happens, I will deliver on a long-delayed promise. Please go check out Need to Forget, the gift you all deserve. I plan on writing only season 5, and there will probably only be 12 or so chapters, but I hope you all can enjoy and forgive my tardiness. As an additional apology, the first chapter is already up.
