Chapter 8

"Marina!" I shouted, running over to where she was, oh my god I'm so glad she's better.

"Carl! What happened to me?" She asked, as she pasted her blue eyes on mine.

"You were shot, by accident." I finished, I think this was the truth.

She just half smiled. "oh"

"Marina! you have to rest for a week! we told you that!" glenn yelled, causing marina to walk towards him.

"But Glenn-"

"Your not fully healed yet! now let's go." he commanded, grabbing her hand for Safety.

"Bye carl, I'll see you in a bit." She said with a sad expression. "I can hang out and play with you finally, but for now I have to rest, bye"

"Bye my love." I whispered, as I felt like crying, I just feel so safe with her, and now she has to go, so now I feel dangered.

"My love" I whispered again, memories flooding my mind, just for saying those 2 words.

*FLASHBACK*

I was lying down next to her, my beautiful mother, she was stroking my hair, telling me things a mother would say.

"Oh carl, you are so brave, so kind, so smart, your a good boy, I love you! I'm so glad your here next to me, you make me feel safe." she told me, her words soothed me.

"I love you too mom" I whispered. "more than you'll ever know."

She smiled and kissed my cheek. "thank you"

"Hey mom I'll be right back." I said, not knowing that will be one of the last times I'll ever see her.

As I was walking, away from my awaiting mother I heard moans coming from behind me, and a scream.

So I turned around swiftly, and saw the horrid sight, that is still in my nightmares.

"MOM! NO!" I yelled, running as fast as I could to her.

"CARL! OH MY BABY, NO!" She shouted faintly, getting bit every second.

I finally came over, and punched the walker it fell to the ground.

"Mom? answer me!"

she started to close her eyes. "carl"

"Mommy please! stay with me. please...." I started to cry, the tears falling on her skin.

This was all my fault, I shouldn't have left her, I shouldn't have.

"Mom! please!"

"Carl, I love you, I have to go now, you'll be fine, I need you to understand." she explained, taking faint breaths in her words.

I nodded my head. "mom I love you"

She smiled her last smile. "baby I love you too, so much."

I smiled the last smile I gave to her. "Mommy I love you! I don't want you to go!" I told her, holding back tears.

She then gave me one last hug. "oh carl! oh my god I never want to let go! oh I love you with all my heart"

I cried silently into the hug, "oh mom"

She then let go, and started to close her eyes, and take her last few breaths.

"Bye my love." She whispered.

And that was it, the rise and fall of her chest stopped, and she laid still, with her eyes closed, that beautiful smile on her face, was still there.

She's gone.

I burst into tears, as I ran away, way into the forest, fighting off any walkers that were near me, as I was far enough, I took heavy breaths while sobbing, and then fell to my knees.

"Oh mommy! I'll never forget you" I said in between sobs.

"Never"

*END OF FLASHBACK*

I then fell to my knees just like in the flashback.

I miss my mom so much, I want her back, more than anything.

Then as I was on my knees, I saw something, I saw my mother, but she wasn't the same, she was milky white, like a ghost,or a spirit.

I walked over to where the ghost was, not once looking any other way, just at her.

But as I got to here, she was gone, vanished. It was just apart of my imagination.

"NO! MOM! DONT GO! I NEED YOU PLEASE! NO!" I yelled, sobbing once again.

"carl? CARL!" I heard my dad yell, but I didn't listen.

"NO MOM! PLEASE NO" I shouted once again.

"Carl!!" my dad then ran over to me, and grabbed my arm.

"LET GO OF ME!" I yelled at him, furious.

"Carl what happened!?" he asked, still grabbing at my arms. "Tell me!"

"NO! LET GO!"

I then saw everyone but marina run out of the prison, worried looks on there faces.

They all ran over to me, and followed my dad's lead of grabbing hold of me.

"LET GO ALL OF YOU NOW!" I cried, as I struggled to get out of their grip.

They didn't listen, they just continued.

Tell us what happened, and we'll let go." Tyreese insisted.

I eyed all of them, calming down a bit, and simply said one word.

"Mom."
