When we arrived back in the USA, Crowley decided to pay us a little visit at our hotel room just outside of Minnesota. Since the boys and I decided to rest for three days, then pick up on another hunt.
"Hello, boys, and son of mine." He sauntered over to the bed the three of us sat on, staring over Sam's laptop.
"Look, beast of burden, Trevor has pretty much decided he wants to do his own thing. We're just hanging out as pals. Don't be THAT type of father, you know it'll only push you two further apart." I rolled my eyes at him, "I've been around you for a few months my self, Crowley, and you're a pain in everyone's ass."
He looked fake offended, "well I've never- Trevor, you can't be serious."
Trevor sighed, but stayed seated, "oh, but I am, Father. I understand being raised in Hell does require a different raising...but you didn't have to beat me that much. Sometimes, just a tiny bit of compassion can go a long way. And you always had more for the Winchester's than your own son. But after the time we've spent together...I can see why.." he glanced over at us, then back to Crowley, "which is why I've decided I'm staying with them, and joining the hunt. You burnt our bridge. Maybe one day we can repair it, but not now, not in the near future. I need some time from you, Father. You can't force me to leave."
Before Crowley could snap back, Sam replied, "and we'd be more than happy to fight for him if you decide to try." A wide smile broke out across the three of our faces. Crowley grumbled and shook his head.
"This isn't over, you three. I will be back!" With a snap of his fingers, he was gone into the smoke. We threw our heads back and howled with laughter.
My phone bleeped indicating I had a new e-mail. Naomi.
"Dear Dean, it's been a few days, but it feels like it's been months since you've left. How is everything? Seems like the group is getting back to normal pretty quickly. I'm applying to a few colleges in America. I'd like to study somewhere there, maybe I'll run into you again. Anyway...hope to hear from you soon! --Naomi"
I smiled and typed back a moderately lengthy reply back, saying I'd love to meet up if she happened to end up in the States. It felt odd, but I kinda really dug her.
Sam poked my side and laughed, "pretty sure she's still jail bait, buddy."
I growled, "I'm not doing anything illegal. She just wants to be pen pals!"
"Yeah, the kiss sure look real pen pal-ly." Trevor roared.
"Shut the hell up. We're just friends. After she turns eighteen, MAYBE, but not a second before." I crossed my arms and stared out the window.
We'd be going on another hunt soon. One that was much easier than the battle at Heavenly Host..but I still couldn't shake the feeling that there was still so many supernatural horrors going on all over the Earth. We were just three guys; how are we to save an entire Earth's population? We'd have to hunt every single day of our lives...
I shook my head, tossed the anxiety away, cracked open a beer, and joined Sam and Trevor in some research on our next hunt. For now, I could only worry about the present.
