I'm jolted awake when I feel the bed move suddenly. Squinting my eyes open and sitting up, I look around to see the cause. Hmm. Nothing. Stretching, I slowing get out of bed languidly. I'm pretty sure I was somehow forced to sleep but whatever. Cai was holding me. Who the heck will protest that? Speaking of Cai... Where is he?

"Cai?" I wait several moments and get no answer. Getting up to go change my clothes, the door opens. Eleanor walks through it with a plate of steaming spaghetti on a tray. I smile at her amiably.

"Hey Eleanor!" I jog over to her and help her with it.

"Hello Miss Lilly." She smiles genuinely at me.

"Oh please just call me Lilly. Miss makes me sound old and important." I laugh.

She laughs in return. "Well I'm not so sure about old, but you are important." She motions for me to come sit down at the little table I have situated in my room to eat. Doing what she says I hungrily pick up my fork and dig in.

"How so?" I ask with a mouth full of spaghetti.

"A lot of people care about you here Lilly. Adam and I are just some of those." She sits down across from me, the tray resting in her lap.

"Oh that reminds me, how are you and my brother coming along?" I glance up and her and see her grow a shade of scarlet. I smile a bit and continue eating.

"I try not to bother your brother much with my problems." Eleanor regains her composure.

"Is it really just your problem? Has he never expressed any interest?" I ask out of curiousity. She always disappears so I never really see her and my brother together.

She pauses for a moment and then answers me. "There was a time back at the old house that I thought it might happen, but when the Master was poisoned, everything got too busy." She sighs and looks out my bedroom window.

"Well still-

"That is another thing though Lilly. The Master is very different now than before." She effectively cuts me off, so I decide to drop it, turning my attention to what she just said.

"Oh? How so?" I shove more delicious pasta in my mouth and wait for her answer.

"You have to understand, the Master may be over 300 years old, but he was only turned when he was 19. He's had a very tough life and it made it even worse for him that his body was halted at a time when he still should be growing into an adult. Which means some things that go through that man's head are still very boyish in nature. Even with several centuries of knowledge." She breathes in and looks down into her lap.

"And so how has he changed now?"

She breathes out and smiles a me. "He's matured. A lot. Even Adam is having a hard time not liking him now if not for the fact that the Master's in love with his sister." She chuckles.

"Can I ask you a question?" I put down my fork next to my half-empty plate.

"Of course, Lilly."
