How Much Worse -Monday-

The rest of the weekend went as follows: I pretty much sat in my room all day and tried not to let myself look at my phone to see the tweets.

-Monday-

Not only was I dreading school because of seeing Logan, but also because it was school. Little did I know, this was going to be the worst week ever.

And boy did it start bad.

First off when I was curling my hair, I burnt my hand, then my newly curled hair got stuck in the zipper of my shirt, and of course my curls became a mess as I tried to get them out of my shirt.

Secondly, after I got myself a big bowl of cereal, after re-curling my hair, and poured in the milk, I realized it was sour. I suppose I could have been able to tell before, by the smell, and the chunks falling out but I was zoned out and didn't.

Then, while I was making myself some toast and finishing homework, I missed my bus. By then my dad had already left for work and my brother to school. I did go out to the bus stop! Just a bit to late.. So now I was going to be late for school. We didn't live that far away, but it was far enough to make me miss homeroom and most of period 1.

As I was walking I decided to call the main office and tell them I had missed my bus and would be late. Just my luck, as the secretary woman picked up the phone and said hello in her perky voice, to perky for the time of day it was I thought, a big truck came flying past me, spraying me with the remains of a dirty puddle. I screamed.

Could this day get any worse?

The lady of the other end of the phone kept talking, "Hello? Is anyone there?"

I wiped my phone on one of the dry spots of my shirt and replied to her, "Yes sorry. This is Melina Martin. I am just calling to say I'm going to be late because I miswsed my bus and did not have anyone to take me."

"Alright Melina, what homeroom are you in?"

"210, Mr. Gibraski"

"Okay I'll let him know and we'll see you when you get here!"

"Thanks." I said and hung up.

About 10 minutes after that I walked into the main office of my school and signed in.

It was 9:05, first period was almost over so I just went to my locker and waited for my second class.

When I entered science class, Mr. Donely informed me that we were changing seats and I would be sitting in the front of the class. I headed over to my seat and put my stuff down. People were still coming into the room and finding their new seats, then Logan came in. This didnt really surprise me because the sophmores and juniors had some classes together. What did surprise me is when he sat down next to me.

"Hey newbie."

I tried not to look at him,"Oh hey."

"What, are you tired of looking into my eyes?" He said.

I could tell he was staring at me, so I looked at him, "Better?"

"Much"

Mr. Donely explained the lab we were going to be doing and let us get to work.

I grabbed the beaker and we began pouring the substances he gave us into it. Mr. D walked around inspecting what everyone was doing, correcting them before they blew something up. When he came over to our table he smiled,"Good team work you two!" Logan was first to reply,"Yeah I think we are pretty good together." I looked down at my notebook and let my hair fall over my face so he wouldn't notice I was blushing.

Once the 5 minute bell rang, everyone started to clean up. I went to grab the beaker to clean it, and so did Logan. Our hands brushed, but I pulled mine away.

Logan took the beaker, "I'll clean it for today, but you owe me."

He winked and I think I almost died.

Seems pretty perfect don't you think? Wrong.

I was just about to say that it was fun working with him as we were leaving class, then Brandi showed up. She pulled him to her and kissed him. She had to awkwardly lean down a bit, her heels were so high. I walked past to get to my next class, but couldn't help myself from looking back. They looked so happy. I wish I could be happy, with him.

Now that wasn't the only bad thing about today. At lunch I tripped, dropping my entire lunch, luckily I didn't fall over completely. Then in my reading class, my teacher decided it would be fun to start reading Shakespeare and that we should read 10 chapters tonight. Also my other teachers gave me a crap load of homework which would take me forever to finish.

When school finished and I got home, I headed straight for the kitchen table to start my homework. About 2 hours later my dad got home.

"Hello darling. I thought you would have made dinner," He said laying is briefcase on the counter,"or atleast given your old man a hug?"

I didn't look up from my book,"Oh I'm sorry dad, I got sooo much homework tonight and I just fogot to make dinner."

"That's alright, I think pizza sounds good." He said picking up the phone to call the pizza shope.

I kept reading, "Sounds good to me."

The pizza arrived 15 minutes later and my dad set a piece down infront of me.

"Mel, you've got to take a break sometime, eat something." he said in between bites.

"I know but I'm on the 7 chapter and I still have to do 5 pages in my history packet."

"Melina you can take a break for a few minutes to eat."

I closed my book and picked up the pizza. It was best not to argue with my dad. I'm glad I took a break though, my eyes were starting to hurt.

It took about 2 more hours, but by 11:00 I finished all my homework and headed off to bed.

Maybe tomorrow will be better. I hope.
