You know that moment on your birthday, or Christmas, that you open the perfect gift and your whole world just seems perfect at that moment? Well that's how I felt this morning when my dad came into my room to let me know school was cancelled. I couldn't really tell because I was so tired but, I think he said there was some sort of gas leak.
Today was going to be the best day of this week. After I fell back asleep for 4 more hours, I woke up at 9:30 and put on some exercise clothes. In 2 weeks tryouts for fall sports were starting. I've been doing cheerleading since I was in elementary school and I did not want to miss the chance to do it this year. So for the next 2 weeks I was going to be working out every day. If I didn't have time for all of my exercises, I would at least do a mile run every day.
I jogged down the stairs into the kitchen where my dad was reading the paper. "Your taking off today?" I said grabbing a bannana, still jogging. He looked up from the paper, "Yeah I thought it would be nice to spend the day with my kids." I smiled. My dad was always finding time for us, even in his busy schedule. "Well I have to do my workout, but when I'm done we should definitely do something." He nodded and I jogged outside.
After my run, I do half a mile to start and half to finish, I went to the backyard to stretch and practice my jumps. I finished stretching and started my jumps. First I did toe touches. Those were my best and my favorite. Then I didnt my pikes, not my favorite but I was decent at them. I practiced those for an hour and then went to finish my run.
"Midnight memoriesss.." I sang as I ran. Yes I have a slight obsession to One Direction. My phone started buzzing. I pulled it out to see what it was. Anthony was calling me, so I turned the music off and took the headphones out of my ears. "Anthony what is it? I'm trying to focus." My brothers voice sounded shaky,"Mel you need to come home right now." I sighed,"Anth.." He didn't let me finish,"Melina please get home RIGHT NOW!" From the sound of his voice I could tell something was wrong. Really wrong.
