After everything that had happened yesterday, I decided to just leave my hair as it was and eat an apple. Also I got up earlier to insure that I made the bus.
After I brushed my teeth and grabbed my backpack I headed out to the bus stop. I was the first one out there because it was 7:15 and the bus didn't come till 7:40. It was early but I did not want to be late.
When the bus finally came and all the other people came, we got on the bus and head to school.
In English class I could see Brian staring at me out of the corner of my eye. He was cute, I admit, but I just couldn't stop thinking about Logan.
After class Brian came up to me,"Hey Melina..I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime this week?"
Crap. That was just not what I needed right now. I tried to think of an excuse why I couldn't on the stop but all that came out of my mouth was,"I can't"
I walked away before he could ask why but I heard him say,"But wh.."
When I got into science, Logan was already there. He was turned around talking to one of his friends and hadn't noticed me, so when I sat down, I let my books hit the table with a loud bang so he would.
"Hey. Some of us would like to have our hearing when we are older." He said turning around.
"Sorry about that, I didn't realize how hard I dropped them" I said, it was a lie but I didn't know what to say.
He just kind of looked at me, like he did at the party on Friday,"Are you okay?" He asked
I just shook my head because Mr. Donely came in and started class.
After class I went to my locker to put my science and English books away.
McKenna rushed up to me,"BRIAN MCANDLESS ASKED YOU OUT?"
I shut my locker,"Ken be quiet!"
She just rolled her eyes,"What did you say?"
"I said I can't"
She gasped,"Why! He's like the second hottest boy in the school besides Logan, but he's got a better personality!"
"If you like him so much, why don't you go out with him?" I asked walking to my next class.
She followed me,"Well I've only had a crush on him since the first grade when he gave me this sweet little card on valentines day! But we are like bestfriends and it would be weird."
I stopped in front of my social studies class,"I didn't know you guys were friends?"
McKenna walked away but said,"You don't know everything about me Melina Martin."
The rest of the day was pretty boring. The worst thing that happened is my reading teacher gave us 5 more chapters we needed to read tonight.
I started reading the chapters on the bus ride home so I could have less to do at home.
I finished my homework in 2 hours and I made dinner for my dad and I. Anthony was going to some girls house. He liked to jump right into things, so I'm pretty sure I knew what they were going to be doing.
I was already sitting at the table when my dad came in. I jumped up to give him a hug but he was on the phone, so he just waved and went to his office.
He'd been working a lot more and harder than he had been before. It wasn't like him to miss dinner. Especially if I had made it.
But even if I didn't want it to, things were changing in our family and I could feel it.
