Once I got to the hospital, one of the nurses stopped me and asked who I was looking for. I told her that my dad just got here and they told me what room he was in. I rode the elevator up to the third floor and found his room.
He was laying on the bed. His eyes were closed so I imagine he was sleeping. I sat in the seat next to him and put my face into my hands. My body was shaking slightly as I cried. "Please don't take him." "Please don't take him." I whispered into my tear soaked hands. My mind was a tornado if thoughts. I cried my self into sleep and woke up later to someone shaking my shoulder.
"He's awake," Anthony said. I looked over at my dad. He gave me a big smile and I got up to hug him. A little while later the doctor came in,"So it looks like it was a minor heart attack. Now seeing that your still young and are healthy it's not anything to be worried about. I say it was caused my stress, and lack of sleep. We are going to keep you here for a few more days and take some test just to be sure."
This news triggered more memories from when my mother died and yet again I find myself crying. The doctor said he would leave us be now. I wiped the tears off my face but they kept coming. "Melina come here." My dad said. I went over and got onto the bed with him. He wrapped his arms around me and kept telling me it was going to be okay.
"Everything will be okay."
