Hollands eyes flicker open due to the beeping of her alarm clock. She groans as she slams the snooze button with her palm.
She twists around in her sheets, trying to fall asleep once again, but fails miserably.
She lightly brushes her finger against the back of her neck, feeling the scar that the operation left almost exactly 3 years ago. She does this everyday when she wakes up, a paranoiac habit she acquired after the operation. Most teenagers have a habit after the implantation, most worst then Hollands.
Holland dangles her feet off her bed as a large smile takes over her features. Today's the day she turns nineteen, the age everyone wants to be.
Holland jumps off her bed and strides her long legs to the restroom. She twists the knob on the sink for the cold water. She places her hands underneath, wiping them on her face in an attempt to wake herself up more.
She couldn't sleep last night, the fact that it's her birthday today kept her up half of the night. Nineteen is the age everyone wants to stay. It's supposed to be the best year of your life. It's supposed to be the year you find your soulmate.
Holland washes her face with the anti-acne wash she picked up at the store yesterday becasue her first pimple since last year appeared. She finishes and brushes her teeth.
She exams herself in the mirror, trying to figure out what to do with her hair and makeup today. In a couple hours she will be able to go out and find her true love. Something she's been wanting to do since the day she woke up from the operation.
Holland decides in leaving her wavy hair natural and going a bit darker with her makeup today. She usually goes for the natural nude look, but today she wants a darker style like she saw on the magazine she was reading last night.
She takes out her makeup bag from underneath the sink and dumps it out on the counter. She smears foundation on her face adding a bit of bronzer. Holland curls her eyelashes and uses the technic the magazine uses to put on her mascara and applies eyeliner on her eyelid with a swift movement. Hollands eyes dart across the mirror as she examines her eyes. The dark makeup makes her eyes pop, she likes the way it looks. She puckers her lips and puts a pinky-red lipstick on.
Holland places everything back inside her bag and tosses it under the sink as she walks into her closet.
She scans all her clothing that hangs on the racks of the closet. Her closet is designed so it looks as if it were a small boutique. It's a but larger then the average walk in closet, but not as big as an actual shop. Holland walks to the very end of her closer where she spots the clothing she picked out for today, three different outfits, one for the morning, one for the afternoon, and a beautiful navy blue dress for tonight. she bought the dress month before today. She bought it a size smaller then she actually is, she's been on a strict diet hoping to loose a couple pounds so she'll look slim when she meets her true love.
Holland strips of her pajamas, and slips her comfy grey sweater over her head, it's a bit oversized so it covers up to mid thigh. She pulls up her booty shorts and slips on her grey converse. She examines her outfit in the full length body mirror that's placed on the wall of her closet.
She smiles, running her fingers through her hair, messing it up a bit, but it creates the messy morning look that she was going for.
Holland walks out her closet and back into her room. She grabs her cell of her nightstand and shuts her bedroom door behind her. Taking two steps at a time as she jogs down the stairs.
As she walks into the kitchen everybody yells "surprise!" Hollands mouth falls open at the huge breakfast her mother prepared for her.
"Well." Her younger sister says, motioning her hands for her to say something.
"Th-thanks." Holland says, taking her usual seat on the table.
Her mum doesn't prepare food very often, it's usually Holland that cooks. Her mum is always busy at work, same with her dad. He's in the military and is almost never home.
The twins take they're seats and so does her mum. They don't normally have family meals, everybody always eats they're own meal. The twins usually eat together while gossiping about they cute boys that are in their class and how they hate they're literature teacher. Things that normal thirteen year olds talk about. Occasionally about they're chips, but they tend to keep that in the back of they're minds.
"Honey, today you're going to find him. I thought that we should have a family meal today since I don't know when I'll be seeing you again."
Hollands eyes start to tear up a bit, she holds back the tears and forces a bite of the pancake her mom cooked for her. It tastes dry and they're a bit burnt. She takes a sip of her orange juice, "I promise ill come back with him mum."
Hollands mum places her hands on Hollands, "I'm just going to miss you that's all." Her mum says, tears falling from her eyes,
"Mom." Holland whines, as a small tear slips, "your going to make me cry."
Her mum sniffles and wipes the tears away. "We're going to miss you too." The twins say in unison.
"I'm going to miss you two." Holland smiles. "But remember, make good choice while I'm gone." Holland say, placing her eyes on Scotland , she blushes and looks down at her pancakes.
Scotland trusts Holland with her life, sometimes more then her own twin. Every bad thing that Scotland does, her older sister knows about. Not becasue Holland stalks her every move, but becasue Scotland tell her about everything and relies on her for advice.
"Oh, and I bought you a little something to start your wild year." Her mum says as she gets up from her chair and open the miscellaneous Drawer in the kitchen.
She takes out a card and hands it to Holland. Holland skids the card out if her moms hands and opens it with care. She pulls out a white card that says
'beloved daughter, beloved Holland, today's your special day, the day you turn nineteen, the day you turn into a lady, they day the adventure begins.'
Custom made, holland thought. She flips the card open.
'The day you find your soul mate,
The day your true love is found,
The day everything changes.
Today you fly to L.A
the city of your dreams,
I know that it's going to be ok,
And I thought that this would be the day,
I give you the tickets that will make your heart fly.
Have a nice nineteenth birthday Holland,
And may god be with you through this wonderful adventure.'
Holland looks up from the card, her mum is hold tickets and hands them to her. Hollands eyes dart across the tickets, today, in LA at 7 pm, One Direction consort tickets.
