They finished up lunch and made their way back to Maks and Peta's house. When they arrived some people had already started cooking the dinner. It was Christmas Eve and they always had a lot of family over and had a big feast. Sharna joined the women in the kitchen and Val joined the guys playing table tennis. When he got there they made jokes about him finally leaving Sharna's side, but he just laughed and brushed them off. Sharna took her place in the kitchen beside Peta and began cutting vegetables. Peta began asking about the mall and what she got and Sharna didn't know if she should tell her about the moment that happened.

'I don't know if I should even be telling you this but I'm going to anyway. I was in a store trying a dress on and I asked val to come see what it looked like on me,' Sharna looked at Peta and she was already smiling. 'He told me it looked good and everything and then he came over and took my hand and made me do a twirl and the sexual tension between us was crazy. You know our past but it's never been anything like that.'

'Awww look at my little babies noticing everything that we have been noticing for years.' Peta laughed.

'Ok shut up. I told you this out of trust, don't tell anyone.' Peta promised she would and they continued helping with dinner.

Sharna had been with Val for so long through the season and now tour, she started to miss his company. She felt pathetic because it had been four hours at most, but especially the last few days they really didn't leave each other's side. She told the rest she was going to the bathroom, and she was but she just so happened to pick the bathroom closest to the room where Val was. When she got there someone was already in the bathroom but she didn't want to go to a different one. She waited until the door opened and Val came out.

'Missing me too much?' Val asked with a smirk as he came and stood in front of Sharna. The sexual tension was very much back.

'No I just needed to go the bathroom now excuse me.' She tried to move out of his way hiding her smile.

'Yea and that's why you chose this bathroom, right?' Sharna just laughed. Val could read her like a book.

'Ok maybe a little is that dumb?' She asked looking up at him.

'No, not at all because don't tell anyone but I was missing you too.' He whispered. Both of them had huge smiles on their faces.

'Ok I really am going to pee myself, I'll see you at dinner.' Sharna kissed his cheek and went inside the bathroom. Val collected himself for a moment before rejoining the group playing table tennis.

A few hours later and dinner was ready. The guys joined the rest of them at the table. Val and Sharna were sitting across from each other. Everyone had their own conversations going on. Sharna was talking to her mom beside her when she felt a foot on top of hers. She smiled immediately knowing it was Val. His foot stayed there while she finished her conversation. When she was done she looked over and he was already looking at her smiling.

'Can I help you?' She asked leaning her elbows on the table with her face in her hands.

'I just wanted to get your attention,' He smiled back at her. He had been flirting with her a lot more recently and Sharna had started to notice.

'Well it's all yours now.' Val from the minute he met Sharna had thought she was beautiful but she had been with Paul up until recently. When the broke up he really started to take notice of how much he liked being around her. They fell into their own conversation talking about tour and the previous season. Sharna's mom had moved to talked to Peta's parents so Val made his way around to sit beside her.

'So that dress you bought earlier, is that for tomorrow?' He asked knowing fine well it wasn't.

'Are you kidding, I think your parents and my mom might kill me if I came to a family dinner like that. That's for another time.'

'When is another time because I would sure like to be a part of that time,' He looked at her and she was blushing.

'I don't know yet, maybe New Years when we go out. I haven't decided yet.'

'Well I will make sure I'm there,' Sharna shook her head and laughed. The two offered to clean up. They took the dishes and cleaned the kitchen while everyone moved to the sitting room. There was a comfortable silence between them for a while.

'I don't know if I'm over stepping my boundaries but why did you break up with Paul?' Val asked. Sharna wasn't expecting it but she wasn't afraid to answer.

'I wasn't happy. He wasn't allowing me to grow personally, everything had to be about us as a couple I was never really allowed to grow as a person and do anything for myself,' She answered honestly. Val couldn't understand how Sharna wasn't in a relationship, not that she needed to be but to him she was a gold mine for a guy.

'I'm sorry for asking, but from the outside it looked like a perfect relationship so I just always wondered why.' Val moved to stand beside Sharna who was cleaning the last part of the kitchen.

'Yea I got a lot of that from fans on twitter and then after he came out and said all that he did, I got a bunch of shit from people on twitter. It was a really rough time for me. I hid it well though,' Sharna faked a smile but Val saw right through it. Val didn't reply he let her finish cleaning and when she had, he pulled her into a hug and he felt her relax in his arms. Sharna felt a weight being lifted off her shoulders. She rested her head on his chest and they stayed like that for a while.

'We should probably go join everyone else,' Sharna said pulling her head back to look at him. Val tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and Sharna's heart melted.

'Let's go,' Val took Sharna's hand and led her to the sitting room. Everyone saw them walk in hand in hand but no one bothered to say anything.
